Thanks in advance

If you attach them, they must be translated but I wouldn't attach them. They serve no purpose. Your wedding certificate proves you got married. Nobody cares how much the wedding cost you or who paid for it.

If you're thinking of using this to show a bona fide relationship, it doesn't work. The bona fides you show evidence of are about the relationship, not the wedding.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Hola, That's correct! You don't have to attach any of that when you send the I130.

Good luck,

Meta

i have two questions:

1. when we got married, they gave us two marriage certificates. my question is when we translate/notarize, do we have to do both? because when we brought it to the notary they told us they knew what to do and made photocopies of both certificates, but we only received translations for 1 of them. did they really know what thye were doing?

2. do we need to provide proof of bona fide marriage when doing the initial i-130 filing? or is that later? is the marriage certificate enough as of this step? (attached is the instructions that came with the i130 form, its pretty clear, but i find a couple of people have not provided initial proof) the reason i ask this is because we havent had our proof translated, but we'd like to file for the i130 as soon as possible, i dont want to feel like im rushing things, but i also dont want to wait an extra week if i dont really need to.

1. Yes, the Gong Zheng Chu knows what to do. You each have a certificate of your own. The only difference is the location of your name on the certificate. You each have one with your name on the top. One translation indicating who married whom, when and where is all that is needed.
