..... you can not find an electrical screw driver in the hardware stores ! (all they sell are test probes, ####### !)

Glad to hear this isn't just a Tennessee thing!! It drives me CRAZY!!!!!!

(I'm not sure why you can't find an electric screwdriver, though!)

I don't believe we have electric screwdrivers here, actually. What I know we DO have are electric drills, to which you can attach various screwdriver bits. There's even dinky ones about the size of an overlarge screwdriver, for that authentic feel. :)

Well, about 3 years ago I opened a checking account and received a "cordless screwdriver". Imagine my amazement! I thought, aren't they all cordless?? Turns out I can charge up my screwdriver and electrically twist my screws! And yet I've never used it once!

I guess I'm just old fashioned!

..... you see the crappy way the adverts are done on TV (e.g they cut the advert before it's finished airing or you see a brief 1 - 3 second ad and then a full advert, seems to me that they recycle the tape without erazing it first, a classic case of poor editorial skills)

..... you attempt to get in the wrong side of the car to drive down the shops ! (yep, done it here ... opps)

..... you can not find your fav food in the shops (cream, double cream, thick double cream, weetabix.

..... you can not find an electrical screw driver in the hardware stores ! (all they sell are test probes, ####### !)

..... someone cuts you up on the road without using their indicators and mirrors just to be in front of you !

..... you have a tail gater ..... they tend to sit on your rear as if they are looking through the contents in the back of the car...... ####### .... sometimes I feel like stopping the car in the middle of the road and walking to the back and opening the boot and asking the driver if s/he wants anything from it !

LOL! I've definitely walked round to the wrong side of the car, many times! you hope no one saw you do it! lol

 tail gaters! I'm in Rhode Island and I'm sorry there are many many a-hole drivers around here!! just for something to do they will ride right up your back side, then under take you and park themselves right in front of you, then they go slower and have a 10 car gap infront of them, just for the sake of p**ing you off! and another one, people tailgating you in the slow lane! and your doing 70 mph when your meant to be doing 55!! my remedy spray them with the window washer fluid, that gets some people to slow down! :bonk:

Yep, that works!

The other trick (this only works on a single lane road) is that when they get right up your ####### like that, you slow waaaaaaaaaaay down. Say, from 40 (speed limit is 35) to 25 or 30.

It makes them back off, plus it's funny at the same time

I do that allll the time in the UK  I love it - if there is someone being particularly awful I just slow down loads then pull away really fast at the lights or a busy junction so they are stuck and I zip off into the distance :D

It's a screw driver that electricians use, it has a bulb in the handle that lights up when used to test for an 'electrical current', so it acts as a 'probe' as well as a 'screw driver'.

Huh? Our power screwdriver doesn't have a bulb in the handle, nor does it test for an electrical current. It's just a screwdriver which you put on a charger, remove and use. The head in it can be turned either way in the end - depending on whether or not you need ar phillips or flat head.

That would drive me bananas! I'm pathetic at attempting other accents so the last thing I'd want is for someone to think I was putting on my own!

I'm loving the things mentioned in this thread - I don't have anything to add, and I haven't encountered many of these things...yet - but I have certainly gone to the wrong side of the car before.
