Ok, American guy here!

I don't get the soccer (football), When I was in school I played it all the time and I loved it. But to watch it being played is like watching paint dry. No one ever scores points!

How can this be enjoyable?

I've never understood what's so exciting about American "football". Takes like an hour to get from one end of the field to the other!! :P I went and saw the Denver Broncos, never been so bored in all my life.

I'm with you on this one! I keep trying but god it's SOOOOO dull!

LOL personally I don't like walking sports. Would rather grab a movie and my sweety and keep ourselves entertained!!!

Roundabouts. Where in the states do you get them, if any. I didnt see one roundabout in Louisiana. They would save money on traffic lights at least.

You get them in the northeast - MA especially. They are called rotaries.

There's actually one near where I live in LA - no one knows how to use it though - they just accelerate and hope for the best.

I've seen them in FL and CO too, though they're sporadic. And I agree.... no one knows how to use them. :help:

Turning on a red light. Still trying to figure that one out lol.

If it's turning right lol get used to it. Unless the sign specifically says "No Turn On Red" it will happen

It's called a soft right. My hubby thinks it's brilliant. :D

I have the same problem with hockey, but in this case I cannot see where the puck is most of the time. At least in Soccer (football) I know where the ball is.

Just my observation.

I never got into hockey until I started going to games. I agree it's hard to see the puck on TV (at least when you're still learning the sport), so it's difficult to get into it that way. Hubby is probably a bigger hockey fan than I am now  -- going to games regularly is what did it for him.

Hehe, there's a few roundabouts in Iowa. I love how they're plastered with signposts to tell you exactly what to do, but folk still don't quite get it ><

Everyone should get sent to Milton Keynes for roundabout training.

I had my roundabout training at Five Ways in Birmingham. Actually it was more of a reenactment of that scene in National Lampoons European Vacation only with less exciting landmarks

we have those turns on red in Aus too :D

of course, they're left turns there... ;)

I THINK it started as 'with permission only' - there were signs saying 'left turn on red permitted after stopping', but then changed to 'permitted unless prohibited'

but of course, I haven't been driving there for almost four years, so I may not know what the hell I'm talking about ;)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Love all the responses!!!!!

My other half is always having to stop me throwing cushions at the TV - the adverts (sorry - commercials!!!!) drive me NUTS - GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! :crying::crying:

And the other thing is the way they have commercials for the WEATHER forecast - and then the weather "teasers" - ie: "There may be rain next week - stay tuned for more details"!

Oh, and the drug advertisement epics during the news........................"Viva Via-gra..."
