Passport Copy

Hello...My fiancee received her packet 4 from the consulate in Chennai, and it mentioned among other things that she should bring a copy of my (petitioner) U.S passport. I had sent her a copy of the front and back of my passport previously. Is it required to send copies of all pages of the passport? Please provide me with some feedback...thanks

When I made copies of my passport the woman who was doing the copies told me that in making copies of the passport they want to have all pages. So yes, make a copy of each page, even if it is blank without any stamps. Just to be on the safe side anyway and it couldn't hurt.

Do you have any idea as to what is the latest interview date that we can get at the Chennai Consulate?

They want "all" pages - okay.

Number 11 on the I129F checklist here on VJ says: "Copy of the Birth certificate (front and back) for the US Citizen or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship."

What does "issued with a validity of at least 5 years" mean? Does this mean a passport that won't expire for 5 more years or does it mean a passport that was issued at least 5 years ago?

Don't read into it, it means exactly what it says. The passport, by the time it was issued, had to be valid for at least 5 years.

IE: My passport was issued today (April 30, 2008) so it should be good for at least 5 more years from this date (the date it was issued).

I don't know how to explain it better, I hope that made sense!

Your passport is fine. It was issued with a validity of 10 years.

Remember, it says: " ISSUED with a validity of at least 5 years ".
