Will my K1 visa be approved if we plan to elope?

What is the difference between "elope" and going someplace for a simple civil ceremony?

What difference does it make if they approve or not? Are you both of legal marrying age for your State of residence? The term elope is a little antiquated. It implies leaving one venue to go to another for the purpose of matrimony that would otherwise be forbidden by law. If the marriage is forbidden by law for some reason then you would certainly have to consider that in your plans. For the marriage to be recognized by the USCIS for a K1 it must be a lawful union by statute in whatever venue the marriage takes place. If one of you is underage and lies about it to get married, that would not be a lawful marriage and could be used to nullify the visa conditions.

As long as you marry AFTER you have the visa and arrive here and its a legal marriage, where or how you had your wedding is your business!

I am 23. He is 25. Religion is the problem, but I will be converting anyways.... but his parents still somehow dont like the idea me converting, and my parents too.

I have been in a marriage with religious differences and lack of family support. It's like swimming upstream. The marriage failed. If you are converting your religion to please your fiance rather than doing it for genuine reasons then you may never be satisfied with your decision. If both sets of parents are opposed to the marriage that is problematic.

Consular officers don't concern themselves with parental approval (unless required by law due to underage) or the specifics of marriage plans. Eloping will not impact visa approval.

You can marry any way you like AFTER you receive the Visa as long as the wedding is here in the US! They could care less what your family thinks!
