We just got packet 3 today and apparently not only is there no new doctor for Edmonton, there are no doctors at all for Saskatchewan.

Also, to make an appointment with the doctor in Calgary, apparently you have to speak to him personally.

I'm still really happy that we got packet 3 finally!!

YAY! I'm glad you guys got your Packet 3! It's crazy that they didn't add another doctor here in Edmonton. It's even crazier that there are NO doctors at all in Saskatchewan! Geez! The Vancouver medical place will definitely get it's share of business, that's for sure!

Oh yeah, the doctor in Calgary obviously doesn't respond to emails at all. I emailed them at least 2 weeks ago and never received a response. At least the lady in Vancouver responded and we decided to go that way. Thank goodness!

Now, you just have to fax it back and then get ready to wait for an interview date! :P That's where we're at. Waiting for the date! I sure hope we get it soon!

They sure dont make it easy!! But always a good excuse for a good trip to Calgary or Winnipeg!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The Vancouver doctor sounds very accomodating. For us it is still more convenient for him to go to Calgary. He was going to make a weekend trip to Calgary to visit his sister and nieces sometime in April anyway.

FYI for anyone else going to Dr Viljoen in Calgary --- he does have someone who can book the medical appointment for you, but his regular receptionist cannot. I don't know if the person who handles scheduling medicals only works part time or just happened to be out Wednesday and Thursday, but she was in today, and my fiance booked his appointment for April 10. What a relief!:dance:
