As you all know, we went through the interview and the AP. AP was finished a couple of weeks ago and case sent back to the Embassy. Then they requested the CV with personal references to call. We gave it to them last week!

Everything else on that CV is the same information provided on the G325-A and the DS-230. The only difference is that my husband explained what his job responsibilities were/are in greater detail and gave telephone numbers for his schools and employers. That info and fulfilling the Embassy request to provide "names/telephone numbers of people" the Embassy can call. (Oh and we listed his hobbies)

Well???!!!

When is the Embassy going to call these references????!!!!

I am pulling my hair out each day this case languishes! I see this CV business as a stall or delay tactic by the Embassy. They can't be rehashing my husbands place of employment or education...This has all been cleared by the DOS in their security checks.

And they aren't calling the references!!!!

I am going to puke!

Nothing that they're doing makes sense. I have you in my prayers (F)

Nutty I know you are feeling boxed in and in the dark. I will say that they may not call and may actually go and interview these persons face to face. It does happen so them not calling right now may not mean that they are sitting on your case. May Allah/God grace you with patience and understanding and that is about all one can ask for during this dark time. Still remembering all of those separated in my prayers.

Mary

No Home Visits possible.

The US Embassy is in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates). My husband lives in Iran. The next country over. There is no US Embassy in Iran. So the Embassy can not make "home visits."

Is it standard procedure in all emabassies to request a CV, references, and double check past employers and schools??

NO. It is not standard procedure.

However, it has happened to some individuals on this board. But even then, they were asked for the CV at the time of the interview. So at least the Consulate officer can review the CV as the case is being checked at the Department of State at the same time. NOT AFTER EVERYTHING HAS BEEN DONE AND COMPLETED. As a afterthought.

I understand...But then why not ask for the CV sooner???

The Department of State people say the AP security checks have expiry dates on them and if the case languishes at the Embassy, the security checks have to be done all over again.

who knows what they are doing? it seems that they make up some rules as they go along. i really hope it was just some sort of administrative thing, and that they will issue the visa any day. can you get any info out of DOS??

I just wanted to add this may not be something specifically needed by the US Embassy. Sometimes in countries like Iran and Syria specifically the home government (Iranian/Syrian) pressures the US embassy for these kinds of items, stalls the applications etc. I've dealt with visas in these two countries and the State Department has told us this does occur.

May 11 '09 - Case Approved 10 yr card in the mail

June - 10 yr card recieved

Feb. 19, 2010 - N-400 Application sent to Phoenix Lockbox

April 3, 2010 - Biometrics

May 17,2010 - Citizenship Test - Minneapolis, MN

July 16, 2010- Retest (writing portion)

October 13, 2010 - Oath Ceremony

Journey Complete!

How can the Iranian government (home government) influence what the US Embassy does in relation to an US issued immigration visav to go to USA?

It seems to me the power is all with the US Embassy.

So sorry for the nonsense they are putting you through, it does seem like they are stalling.

About the home visits........countries without consulates who go through another country ( us too ) can get home investigations.

The processing consulate has National employees in place in the home country of the beneficiary to do these ' visits'.

I hope they will contact you soon and you get out of this delay.

We have been going through all kind of crazy ####### too. Hang in there !
