As a K3, in order to get a SSN, you need to have the EAD first. Here is the VJ link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...om&page=ssn

As for jobs, I think different people have different methods. You can try maybe looking for jobs in his field or other jobs until he builds up his resume to get a better job. If he has work experience in Nigeria then he can use that on his resume to get a job. Look in your area and see if you can make some contacts for a job once he gets here.

If he has a driver's license then maybe he can drive on it for some time while he is here. I know in PA, if you have a valid International Driver's License, you can drive on it for a year without getting one issued from PA. Check the DMV website for your state, or check out the international students website for a local university (that is where I got my info). If he has never driven before you may want to look into driver's ed, or maybe teaching him yourself (if you can). Even if he does not have a driver's license I am pretty sure that he can get a state ID.
