So, as NERVOUS as I am, our interview is on Thursday morning at the consulate in Montreal. I'm nervous about driving there, finding the hotel (Le Tour Centreville) & parking.

I organized everything today-putting each document in its own individual folder so it is easily accessed. Now I'm just scared to death I will forget something or something will go terribly wrong.

So-ANY LAST MINUTE TIPS OR ADVICE FROM ANYONE??? :star:

Visa Type: K-1

Embassy: Montreal

NOA1: 4-24-2007

NOA2: 8-15-2007

Recieved Packet 3: 9-15-2007

Returned Packet 3: 1-29-2008

Montreal Recieved: 2-04-2008

Interview date: 3-27-2008 (APPROVED!!!)

Visa in hand: 4-01-2008 (and it wasn't an APRIL FOOLS JOKE!)

Date of US entry: 4-12-2008

Date of wedding: 5-24-2008

AOS, EAD & AP Filed: 10-02-2009

AOS, EAD & AP NOA1: 10-19-2009

I never thought it was worth it, you know, waiting for your love, and then I felt your kiss, I could wait forever for this........

mapquest is ur friend!!! Double check all your documents and have a good trip.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

If you're a total spaz like me, when I have important documents for a business trip, I fax a copy of them to the hotel I am staying at. That way, just in case you missed something, you have a copy.

And I know you need the originals, but just in case, you can always say at the interview that you left it at home and will send them through the mail as soon as you get home.

But, calm. You're gonna be fine. It's just a an annoying/expensive formality at this point. They're dying to say YES. :thumbs:

Ugh. Mapquest is totally unreliable these days. :angry: Best to go with Google directions. The drive is pretty straightforward Sandoz. You'll be fine. :thumbs:

Cattatude has given some good advice. If you've forgotten anything they will allow you to send it after the fact, so there's no need to worry about a denial based on that. Have a great time in Montreal and treat yourself to a great meal! I loooooooove Montreal. :luv:

Good luck! My advice is expect the best and be prepared with all your documents and your $$$, which it sounds like you are. Line up at 7:00 a.m.! Breathe! Let us know how it goes!

if you havent left yet...get a GPS...LOL..we were so thankful we had ours...best gift we ever got!
