Sealed package from Warsaw embassy after visa

Hi,

My wife and daughter are immigrating from Lithuania to the US and obtained their visas (K-3) through the US embassy in Warsaw. At the embassy my wife was given a sealed yellow envelope, apparently full of paperwork that she was told must be filled out and submitted to US immigration about 2 weeks after their arrival to the US in June. It appears she was told not to open this envelope until after her arrival here.

Does anyone have an idea what the purpose of these papers are? Is there standard paperwork that is required to be completed soon after arrival to the US?

Just for info: After my wife's interview at the embassy she had to wait until the afternoon to receive her visa. At that time she was told they do not issue visas for children the same day, she would have to return another day to get her daughter's visa. This is an 18 hour round-trip by taxi that she did not expect. She returned the following week and obtained the visa with no problems. Apparently they do some extra investigation involving children and don't explain this ahead of time.

Thank you for any info you can offer.

there is nothing to be filled out. The envelope includes the medical results and name check etc.

DO NOT OPEN IT under any circumstances!!

I think what the guy said was that she has to file AOS once in the US.

They will take the envelope at immigration and keep it.

Thanks, Mary. They will be arriving in June, nearly 3 years to the day after our first contact. We decided to wait until our daughter finished her school year before their arrival. I have visited them 4 times and they have visited me for one month last summer. I'm looking forward to a loving and happy family life together.
