Hello! :D

Finally reunited with my wife...never felt so happy in my life!

Arrived here at West Covina last Wednesday and was picked up by my wife and her sister. POE was at LAX and did not encounter any problems upon arrival. Spring has come and the weather so nice here...

For those whose POE is LAX, K-1 and K-3 visa holders should fall in line at the "visitor" counters which would be counters 4,5,6,7 and 8. 1,2 and 3 are reserved for immigrant visa holders (IR-1/CR-1). I actually went to counter 1 and was directed by one of the Border Security officer to go to either counter 7 and 8. Aside from that, i was ok all the way out. Processing was straightforward - i submitted my Visa Package envelope ("do not open" envelope), passport, filled up I-94 and Customs declaration form to the officer assigned at Counter 7. She just asked me the ff. questions: "If my wife was here at California", "If she was from Philippines too" and "If we have kids". I was done in like 10 to 15 mins...

Anyways, we wouldn't have done it without the help of all the VJers out here! Thanks again and i do hope you have a very successful Visa Journey!

Now on to AOS and EAD... :D

Welcome to USA! Glad you made it safe and sound!

hey congrats!!! and glad ur there safe!

as for the EAD im not really a big fan of filing it with the aos coz its add'tnl charges plus most of my friends who filed it, got their GC first before the EAD...lol... but hoping it will be great for u!!!

Actually May, with the new AOS filing fee, which by the way is $1010, it includes AP and EAD. Having said that, it won't make any difference if you will or you will not file EAD since it's not like they will give you a discount for not including it in the application. Since you'll never know what's really going to happen during AOS process, it's always better to have an EAD as a backup, as it will allow you to work even while your AOS is pending.

No problem! Well, I'll be filing for lifting conditions too, but on 2009. I have started saving for that... or should I say my husband has started giving me $25 every week to be used on future immigration paperwork? :D It's indeed very expensive doing all these papers and we want to make sure we'll have money to cover for all the expenses.
