Do I need to provide my fiance with tax transcripts or tax returns?

I included for him:

Tax return copy: 2005, 2006, 2007

Letter from Employee stating start date, position, salary, and that I am permanent

All pay stubs from 2008

My 2007 W2.

This should be sufficient, right?

If you sent actual copies of the 2005 & 2006 tax returns, you also need copies of those W-2's.

Is your salary for those 3 years 125% over the poverty level? If not, you may need supporting proof such as bank statements and such.

I was a college student in 2005 and 1/2 of 2006. I graduated and began working in June of 2006. I earn well over the poverty requirements, but I didn't in 2005. I can submit my W2's for 2005 and 2006, but I only earned like 10K in 2005. If my earnings have to be for the past 3 years, will they or can they average my income? 2005 + 2006 + 2007 / 3?

They are most concerned with current income, they do not average past years returns.

Transcripts OR Returns (1040/W2 AND/OR 1099)

One thing about I-134, the directions included with I-134 are very old, USCIS has no reason to update them since USCIS has no application for that form.

The consulates tend to treat the I-134 like a mini-I-864 as so prefer the same financial evidence as the I-864.

In our case this what the I-134 included.

• I-134 signed and notarized.

• SIMPLE Tax transcripts from the IRS for past 3 years, (Redundant for the (1040,W2,1099) but are free from the IRS http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

• Photo copy of IRS form 1040, and W2s for past 3 years (Not necessary if you provide the transcripts)

• Letter from my employer stating annual salary, job responsibility, and that is full time, on company letterhead.

• Photo copies of past month or so of pay stubs up to a few weeks before the interview.

My income was well above the povertyline so I did not include any asset data (LIKE BANK STATEMENTS or property values).

If your income exceeds 125% or (100% for military) of the povertyline when counting yourself, prospective immigrant and any dependents, then don't bother with assets (401K, Bank balance, Stocks etc..), it is just extra un-needed data to provide, the consular officer is most concerned with INCOME.

Make sure to include a statement from your employer about your income (per month and/or per year). Good Luck

I would print out the last 3 months of bank statements, As long as you are currently over the poverty line, you should be good, but each consulate has its' own standards.
