I am ready to send in the $ 380 bill to St Louis.

notice that thet ask for money order/cashiers check to be drawn on US Bank.

I will get the money order filled at Canadian charterd bank,

would not think they draw on US BANK.

anybody here sent 380 from canada ??

all the best

ps have a few questions re ds-230

I sent all my originals with first package to CSC

realised after talkin with "sanc" that I should have sent copies.

now I have managed to get them replaced with certified copies

of birth and marriage certificate,

DO I send these again with 230 and keep my self generated copies.

also it seems reading today that i will need a copy of my US born wifes BC.

For the 380.00 I went to the bank and just asked for a US money order. They are drawn on American banks. Before I left the tellers, I just made sure it was actually drawn on an American bank. As for the DS-230, it says to send the originals and that they will be given back to me at the interview. I called NVC the other day to see if I also needed my husbands birth certicate (USC) and the lady said only mine. I'm not too sure about that so I will call again tomorrow to see what someone else tells me.

Good Luck!

I called on Friday for the birth certificate and the lady mentioned that I only send my birth certificate and not my husbands. This is the second call I make about it and they both mentioned I only send mine.

the sponsor(USC) doesnt need to send in their birth certificate. You should have sent in the biographic page of their passport earlier. The person being sponsored only needs to send in the birth certificate.

from what I remember you can't.... it will cost you to call the NVC from CAnada

and they only need the USC's long form birth certificate for the initial I-130 petition (at least we did, we got RFE'd for it) but not for the NVC

You are right, MarilynP. NVC doesn't have a toll-free number. And as for the birth certificate, when i called NVC on the two different occasions, both people that answered my questions said that it was only me to send my birth certificate, and not my husband (USC). :)
