Hello everybody,

I am getting ready to file 129F application and I need a clarification on one item in VJ guide.

One of the documents needed, as per VJ guide, is front and back copy of certificate of naturalization. The issue with this is that the back is empty, or at least it seams so, thus I want to make sure I am not sending blank pages with my application for nothing.

Do I still need the copy of back page? I just want to be 100% certain that I am sending the right documentation and want to avoid any mistakes on my part.

Thanks!

No you don't need the back copy of naturalization certificate bx there is nothing there. You would just be wasting paper. Hope that helps  . Good luck with your journey.

I made a copy of the back of my birth certificate even though it was blank. I labeled the page as the back of my birth certificate. I didn't want to take any chances for an RFE. It was only one extra sheet.

Think about it... When you copy only the front side of your document, is not the backside of the copy a "copy" of the back of your document? I mean blank is blank whether you run it through a copy machine or not. If you want, simply include a blank sheet of paper.

YMMV

As it turns out, my naturalization certificate had a name change on its reverse, so obviously I included it. I'm assuming they want the reverse if there is any supplemental information on it, but I also think they may want the reverse side just to show there is no supplemental information on it, too. So just to be safe I'd include a blank piece of paper.

Ah i'm sorry to be rude..but advising the person not to include the back copy of naturalization certificate is wrong & will cause an RFE for the petitioner...it specifically states that if the petitioner intended to use his/her Certificate of Naturalization to prove citizenship, then they need to make front & back copy of the certificate...I just want to point out that the back of certificate has a WATER MARK that will appear once it is xerox or scanned..in short the back is NOT blank....Better be safe than sorry, no wasted paper here. I sent the FRONT & BACK copies of my Certificate..I just stapled them together..NO RFE for me as you can see.
