BIOMETRICS SCHEDULE BEFORE NOA.

Hello everyone,

I used to visit this website when I was applying for my 2 yr greencard; reading and replying threads. After I got my greencard and offered a job, after 6 months of waiting, that kinda stopped me from getting involved on the VJ circle.

Well, I'm back again and hope you all can help me with my querries.

Firstly, I recieved a biometrics appointment notice today and just wondering why it came ahead of NOA. I supposed everyone here gets thier NOA first then the biometrics appointment week or so afterwards. Is there someone here recieved thier biometrics appointment before the NOA? Is NOA contained the extension letter or just a notice informing you that they recieved your application? I was checking to some member's timeline but apprently they didn't include the receipt of extension letter.

Secondly, I checked my case status online and it said that my case was transferred to Vermont. What the heck? I hope I don't have to wait forever for the approval.

Anyway, I hope you guys can clarify me with the the above inquiry.

Thank ya'll

RL

:goofy: Hi RL. I don't have an answer for you but a couple of questions actually. When did you mail off your I-751? Did you look at the back of your check and did it show it was deposited to Texas (though you are now transferred to Vermont)? Also, how long did it take you to be able to check you case online once your check was cashed?.

The reason I'm asking all these questions is our I-751 also went to Texas and I was expecting it to be transferred to Vermont. We only mailed it 03/03/08 and the check was cashed 03/12/08 but shows it was deposted to the Texas Service Center, so I don't know if we are staying in Texas or being transferred. Also, I still cannot get on and check our status as it shows our case # has not been entered yet.

By the way, where in B'ham do you live? I am in Tampa now but just moved from B'ham in December and lived there for over 30 years. :goofy:

Hi Shari,

I though I saw you and your husband's avatar before from this website. :)

Anyway, I'm here in Hoover (Hwy 150 across the Galleria mall). I am actually from the Phil moved here in AL back in Oct 2005.

I actually sent my packet on February 19, TSC received it on the 21st. The check was cashed on March 5th, we used a Cashier's check though so I dont have the check image.

I got the biometric appointment notice on the mail over the weekend. It's dated March 11, 2008 and the appointment will be on the 28th at 11 AM.

When I checked the USCIS website lastnight, it says that my case was transferred to VSC on March 12 and notice of transfer was sent to me then. Well, here's what I thought about not getting a NOA, since TSC transferred my case to VSC, so there's no point for TSC to send a NOA since they're not gonna be processing my case then. And that make sense to me. :)

Anyway, good luck to us. I hope we don't have to wait for a year or so to get our 10 yr greencard.

:goofy: Rose - thanks for replying. We lived in Clay, near Trussville, but my husband got a job in Tampa and it is really nice down here - though I kinda dread what the summer humidity will be. Well, as I said our check was cashed March 12th but we still aren't into the system yet by using our case #, but if it is Texas doing it and not Vermont it might be slower - ugh! Good luck! :goofy:
