The following guides are very helpful for filing your Canadian tax return in the year of departure. I've posted these before but am now giving it is own topic so it is easier to find.

AOS

May 23, 2008 - AOS filed

June 3, 2008 - NOA

June 27th - scheduled biometrics, reschedule requested

July 14th - biometrics

July 16 - cases available online

Aug 6th - card production ordered (EAD)

Unfortunately, they don't explain how to file for the year you become a non-resident. Like all the questions about where you lived on December 31 2007 and your civil status... Do you put whatever you were on the date of departure(before becoming non-resident) or what you were on the 31th? Grrr...

And I wasn't able to find out where I need to file the Quebec's one... Tried to search for information on Quebec Revenu's site but couldn't find any help for filling.

[27-03-2006] Touched? (The last modification was on that date. shrugs)

[30-06-2006] Received and sent the IMBRA RFE.

[11-07-2006] Touched --> USCIS received the IMBRA RFE.

[11-09-2006] NOA2!!

[22-11-2006] Montreal received DS-230 on/before November 22

[12-04-2007] Interview!!!

[13-04-2007] K-1 Visa issued after 13 months of waiting.

[19-05-2007] Wedding

[24-07-2007] Paperwork for AoS sent

[11-15-2007] Green Card received

1 year+ for a K-1 Visa. Who would've thought...
