You are required to provide police certs for every place lived at for more than 1 year since age 16. so if you lived in PI for more than a year since age 16 prior to the visa interview, then you will need a cert from there.

For "place" this tends to mean countries.

I was born in the Phil and move here in Thailand for work last 2004. Does it mean i need to have police clearance year 2004?

Sorry for my stupid question.

Tere

YES  unless you moved before age 16.

Police Records

Available and reasonably reliable. Philippine-born immigrant visa applicants are required to furnish certificates issued by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Foreign-born applicants who have resided in the Philippines for six months or more may be issued NBI clearances upon application either in person or by mail. Applicants should send requests for certificates together with certified checks or money orders for the fees and postage to the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation, Taft Avenue, Metro Manila, Philippines. The NBI has its own fingerprint charts and personal data forms that it will send to the requesting applicant for execution. Most applicants abroad find it more expeditious to have a relative or friend in the Philippines assist them in obtaining their certificates from the NBI. The applicant may also submit a copy of a prior NBI clearance to facilitate the processing of a new clearance. Posts are advised that not all arrests and convictions occurring outside of Manila are reported to the NBI. The Philippine criminal records database is not foolproof, and can be open to manipulation. Manila and major Philippine cities have computerized records. All other regions are scheduled to have computer accessible records by 2003. Fee: 100.00 pesos.

If you lived in PI after the age of 16 you need to have one. The PC will be based on you name not any particular date range.

YMMV

I have a "dumb" question re police certificate. Does the US Embassy actually know if the K-1 beneficiary actually lived in places other than their birth home? Just wondering?

Most likely only if it was stipulated on there bigraphical data sheet...

YMMV

One more question...Can a Filipina get a police clearance in Philipines Embassy thailand.

You can inquire but if you read post #4 above it indicates that other than having a friend or family apply on your behalf, other avenues may not be so expeditious.....

YMMV

That is a question you will have to ask the Embassy. Per DoS they indicate having to get them from home country, and they suggest having family or a friend help with this back home.

I think it's longer than 6 months. That is, you need a police check for all cities you lived at longer than six months after you reached 16 years old.

NBI clearance is needed at the US Embassy in Manila. Your timeline states your consulate as Bangkok. If you are filing for a K1 visa in the Phils, then Sherif Ulings guide will help you:

Darryl & Tere,

Could you clarify? Are you Pilipino Citizen? If so, I don't understand how you can process your K! visa in Bangkok.... ? Wouldn't it have to be done via the US Embassy in manila?

Also, regarding Police Certificates. If you are a Pilipino Citizen then you will require 1 police certificate from your home country (the NBI Clearance) and 1 police certificate from each country that you have stayed in for 6 months or more since you were 16 years of age. So , the police certificate you need from Thailand would be requested and issued from the THAI Government, not the Philippines Consultate in Thailand.

Best Wishes!
