All of the United Kingdom interviews are conducted at the US Consulate in London, therefore your Scottish fiance will need to travel there for both his medical and interview.

Will his medical have to be at the same time or can he go to his own doctor and take records with him or what? Sorry I don't see much information on tis part. Thank you!

The medical examination is performed at one of two medical centers in London. The medical examination cannot be performed by the applicant's own physician.

Detailed information on the location of the medical centers and scheduling the medical appointment will be provided to the applicant when he or she receives notification of the date and time of the formal visa interview.

The medical examination must take place before the visa interview. The medical results will be couriered to the Embassy within 2 – 3 workdays of the examination.

The medicals can only be conducted by the Knightsbridge doctors in London. It is possible for the appointments to be scheduled on consecutive days, or on the same day. My husband (then fiance)had his medical and K1 interview on the same day this past January.

ETA, you can also finds lots of more specific London Consulate information in the United Kingdom forum here on Visa Journey.

Hi guys! My fiance's from Edinburgh too, we're about a month or two ahead of you in the process :)

I *think* with the medical that while yes, it has to be done at Knightsbridge, your fiance can go ahead and go to his usual doctor to get any vaccinations he might need. Not sure of the specifics of the social system in Scotland but it might be cheaper to do it this way than wait and have to get additional shots with the London doctor (though maybe they just charge a flat fee). I think the medical usually runs about $200-$300...

We obviously need to do our research :( NOA2 came alarmingly fast.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

The medical fee is between 170 - 200 quid. Not really sure how they decides who pays the higher fee, but recent reports are that most are paying wither 170 or 180 quid.

And yes, if you fiance is not up to date with vaccines, he should get them at his GP as they are much more expensive at Knightsbridge.
