I haven't been keeping up with VJ lately, or this thread since a couple weeks after it started, but I just wanted to let y'all know my fiancee had her interview in Tokyo today and was approved! They said she'll get the visa in the mail in a week. When I get more details of the interview from her I'll post them in the Embassy Review section for anyone interested. Good luck everyone!

Congrats!

I liked the dancing Ana. And Fortaleza is beautiful. It's a big city. There's only one building in my town over 2 stories tall. It's about 3 or 4 floors.

Ok, now to get the week started with some fun, this is the song that came to mind when I was describing Kim. Maybe it didn't make it to Boston, but I want to hear her sing it. We'll sing the chorus with you Kim.

:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Congratulations on the visa in Tokyo ga1jin.

KIM and NICH....you guys are hilarious!!!!!!

:jest::jest::jest: you made my day!!!!!!!!!

ANA your links were great!

Forro looks like something i want to do when i go to Brazil!!!!

I took salsa classes a few years ago and i noticed a lot of spins and turns are the same..and also the basic steps are not very different either...So i think i could handle it with a little training!

That song about Fortaleza is gorgeous... Must be really nice to live there...

I actually understood a good part of the lyrics. I speak Spanish...maybe that is why...And Romanian is a latin language and some words sound the same... In Romanian you say "I" just like in Portuguese "eu" :)

Here's my translation...let me know how i did....lol

"The most beautiful"

I am from here

Son of the sun

Of this imensity...

I carry in my heart the love i have for Fortaleza

I am from here

Son of the sun

of this imensity

and i am proud of living in Fortaleza

Here is the best place in the world...

of the deeepest green

Fortaleza is the most beautiful of all

Like a water color painting

That fascinates and sweetens my heart

I think i missed a few lines but i did my best

hahah Nich you song is awesome I liked the

"Jose and Cuevo you are a friend of mine I like to drink you in the little (ICan´t understand the next word)

...with a little salt and lime. (sal e cal, sal e visco???) A sour fruit, like a lemon, but green. I looked up a translation and got two choices. ???

Oh my goodness.... I dont DO country!

But the words, "I had too much tequila last night" and "did I dance on the bar" and "those little shooters how I love to drink 'em down". Seems like a fun song, even with a Baasstan accent. I see Ana picked out the the sexy, sultry Kim song and I picked the rowdy Kim song.

Ana, I want to do the Forro too. Maybe the old way with your Dad. LOL

Aleena, you are too amazing! So many languages. I'm very impressed.

Nich- I love your updated list of names and NOA2s! It is really starting to look promising especially as our patience it starting to wear thin... Not all the approval dates have gone in order, but there is a general consistency with pretty much all the earlier dates approved by now. So, it is pretty promising, since it looks like the "big day" for us 31st-filers will be here VERY SOON!!! (Although to be honest I was a bit overly-optimistic in the beginning and never thought I would actually have to wait the whole three months!! But that's what you get for thinking your case will be special, I guess!)

Thanks. I know when I started, I was looking at mid-February people and some were getting approved and 18, 22, 25 days and I was thinking WOW, but as time wore on it got longer. I guess that was the magic time to have filed. When we came up, it was about 50 days, now for you it's looking like 80-90 days. What's your next timeline look like once it gets to the Embassy? Do you have to wait on a Packet 3, then wait again to get an interview scheduled? I know some get to call in and schedule their own interview. I haven't looked at all the different countries. Are you just spending the summer in Thailand, but you really live in the US?

Better get the thought waves going again. VIBES~~~~ for everybody

Are you just spending the summer in Thailand, but you really live in the US?

Better get the thought waves going again. VIBES~~~~ for everybody

I've been living in Thailand for 4 and a half years now, so moving back to the US is going to be just as huge of a transition for me as it will be for Lute! But we're both very excited. I think I'm a bit more apprehensive than he is though, since I actually know how drastic our lifestyle change will be. Here everything is just so laid back and it can all be done tomorrow, but in the US everything should have been done yesterday! That's the one part I'm not looking forward to. But it is time to make a change. We're moving because I got a job offer in the US. And what really bums me out the most is that I should have been one of those magic "mid-February" filers, but was waiting for weeks and weeks for my final job offer to come through. I wasn't ready to uproot our lives and put this whole process in motion until I knew the job was for real. So, alas, the petition didn't get out until late March.

The timeline on this side is at the very least another three months or so. The only good news is that I already have Packet 3 downloaded and almost ready, so as soon as we get confirmation that our case has been entered into the Embassy's system, we send off Packet 3 by overnight mail. The interview *should* be scheduled about 9-12 weeks after they receive P3, but it's a wild guess as to when you will actually receive P4 back that tells you the interview date! You can sometimes find out by emailing the Embassy, or I guess calling the State Dept, as you did! We'll see... But for now, I'm ready to hit the ground running as soon as we get this d*** NOA2! I've already got everything lined up in separate little folders for all the things that need to be done for the next stage of this crazy process!!! (I can be a little OCD at times.... )

Congratulations to everyone who has been approved and have interview dates.

Just wondering.... how are all the CSC March filers doing? I'm waiting.... and like everyone else says, it ain't easy. I'm not sure if I'm even on the right path these days (just lost my job, now re-evaluating my career paths, and have debt problems now too,... and it's clearly affecting my relationship with my SO (the beneficiary) *sighs*) Hope everyone is hangin' in there.
