Some people on this board only like to complain about USCIS and the process. Yes, I agree that some things are messed up but check out these statistics. You can find more of them on their website.

Every day the 250 offices worldwide:

∙ Conduct 135,000 national security background checks

∙ Answer phone inquiries from 82,000 calls to their toll-free customer service phone line

∙ Process 30,000 applications for immigrant benefits

Yes they do handle a heavy case load, I think people are just emotional because they miss their loved ones so much and they just need someone to take it out on and USCIS is the one holding their petition up and they are an easy target, that's all. I don't really think it is anything personal against USCIS, this is just such an emotional process, it's hard not to complain every now and then.

It is really amazing there are not more screw ups. I understand frustration but I think people need to remember these are people working there and they can only do so much.

I know at my work we don't get half the info we need sometimes and it is tough to answer stuff you just don't have answers to.

just wait until 11 million illegals start to apply. hahaha a 3 month wait will be like a miracle compared to whats coming. i feel sorry for people who will just be entering the system. Too bad they can't be like hispanics and just puch their way to the front of the line.

Its a little hard to be sympathetic with them when they have had my petition now for 4 months (the second time), and they told me that my wait would be another year. Its a little hard to be sympathetic when I call for an update and I am told that this is the price I pay for marrying a foreigner, and not to call back for another 6 months.

I didn't just start this process, I have been working on it for 1 1/2 years already. The delay isn't because of me, its because they haven't picked up the papers in the entire 4 months, and obviously don't plan too for the next 8. I want resolution and from what they told me, case like mine aren't priority. Its just a little hard to be sympathetic.

Sorry to vent...touchy subject right now.

They work hard, definitely. And they deserve recognition for that. However, not a few of VJ's community has the right to be frustrated and/or angry over misinformation that can seriously impact their family lives.

They do work hard, I'm sure. It just so hard waiting. I worked customer service for department of defense for many years and the phone rings as soon as you hang up. I'm sure they are even busier than I was. I tried to remember this when I would call and they were polite and I was polite but they never really had answers. I know it's their job and they read what's in their material but it's so darn hard to wait!!!

It's great you posted the information though and maybe it will help someone to be a bit nicer when making their calls.

Maybe when our journeys are over we could volunteer to help them I think that when this is over we are all going to be specialist in immigration matters. However, I do feel for them, they must go throw a lot.

or when they say they had a letter for u undeliverable by mail and its not posible, and u call cos they request you to call by email and peolple on the line say nahhh call back in 30 days

i was still nice but it is frustating not getting straight answers
