I was in at 8:00 and I was out at 1:00...of course I was missing a form and had to go to a business centre back at my hotel to print it out on the internet.

Donne moi une poptart!

Good point from Sprailenes!! Include some "fudge" time!! I have read on here of a few members forgetting paperwork, or requiring a new police form, thus making the mad dash to the closest RCMP detachment in Mtl!! And there have been a few times over the years, that Mtl computers have gone down, slowing things!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks everyone!

I've booked a 3:30 return trip and hopefully if I'm done really early, I can switch my ticket to an earlier bus. If not, I'll just find myself a nice bakery or coffeeshop and kill time until 3:30.

Next question: Is there a good list anywhere of everything I need to bring, to make sure I'm not forgetting anything?

We arrived at 7:00, were second in line. We were finished and out on the street at 9:15. Best advice is to get there early. There were a lot of people in the waiting area when we left and more people lined up outside. There's a nice Second Cup on Square Phillipe to chill afterwards! Because you need to do that after the whirlwind of preparation and the stress of the interview. At least I did!
