Just thinking ahead. My fiance had his Visa interview today and he was approved. He receives his Visa next week. I do not want him to have any problems while he is traveling. Should we purchase a round trip ticket or is a one way ticket adequate. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Buy whichever is cheapest

I agree - some of the one way tickets are twice the price of the returns - it's crazy

Buy the cheapest round trip ticket and throw away the return trip. No biggie.

And usually much cheaper than dealing with a one way, unless you look at

a consolidator. As far as US immigration is concerned as long as you have

the visa on hand, they are fine with a one way.

One way tickets are often more expensive because the airlines use it to enforce the saturday night stayover rule (their way to rip-off business travelers who don't stay over saturday night. If the one way ticket was exactly half the price than people would just buy two seperate tickets and the saturday night stayover could not be used and they would not have a way to charge higher fares to business travelers. They can't just say this, so revenue management comes up with these crazy rules.
