Ryan and Eli,

I called NVC last night and found out that our case has gone out on 3/25/08....so it was only there for a day!! I tracked it on DHL and it's actually going out today so the Embassy in Barbados should get it today or tomorrow. Eli, you can call everyday if you wish but it took 2 weeks for NVC to receive our case from CSC.

Now I thought it was also okay for the beneficiary to call NVC...only USCIS requires that the petitioner call for any inquiries?? Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

Sonoran....I'm gonna try lucy4's approach and email Barbados the packet 3 contents to them by next week, hopefully it works and they can schedule my SO's interview if they accept the pdf copies...we're sending originals w/wet signatures by DHL. If we rely on the mail system there, we can wait as long as 3 weeks for packet 3 to arrive by snail mail. LOL!!! :) Good luck with you guys!!!

Do call NVC and get your case #. They can tell you the date your case went out to the Embassy and you can use that date to search it on DHL by reference (it asks for a date range so it's helpful to know when it left NVC).

Good luck!! :)

That's awesome. I hope mine is only in the system for 1 day. :D;) however I anticipate it to go out tomorrow or Monday. That seems to be fairly typical.

hey all!

it's me again!

ok. well we've received the hardcopy of the noa2 thing.

do we now just wait? and sorry for being a dimbo, but what receipt number do we have to use to call nvc when we do try?

or should we just wait until they contact us? that's the procedure right? nvc sends a letter stating our case has been sent to the embassy?

we don't actually mind this part of the waiting. :hehe:

basically, do we just sit and wait now or do we stalk folk?

When you call NVC to see if your case is there, use the WAC# from USCIS. If it's there, they'll ask for the beneficiary name, DOB, and the petitioner's phone number and they'll give you a new case #. And you're right, NVC will send a letter out once it is en route to the embassy. You can either sit and wait or stalk. LOL!!! :D

Good luck, roselinda!!

Fiance's medical is set for April 7th, woohoo! This is moving super quick now!

Seeing that it's now moving - it's just dawned on me how much we actually need to get done before we leave! Pack the house, sale/give away all electricals, ship the cats, sale the car, etc. !! We set the nuptials for August 2nd in Texas thinking it would take at least until the end of June for this to all be done with, leave mid July then get married at the beginning of August.. perhaps it will be sooner! We shall see!

Yes, good luck, Halle! Remember--you have 6 months to activate the visa, so you don't HAVE TO move any sooner than you had originally planned if it will be too stressful to arrange everything. Also--have you looked into take the kitties with you on the plane? Some airlines allow you to bring pets in carry on carriers if they fit under the seat.

My fiance got packet 3 in the mail on March 26, same as Meridien, and his medical appointment in Calgary is booked for April 10. He hasn't faxed back packet 3 yet, but we are going to request an interview date in the second half of May. We're trying to schedule a vacation on Vancouver Island and a visit to my parents (who live in a border town near Vancouver) around it, so we want to have more advance notice than we will get if we just ask for the soonest available date, plus that will give us a better chance of having nice weather in Raincouver!!

Hi there Sonoran!! Glad that your process is moving on swiftly as well! I'll be sending the kitties over to Texas before I leave the UK (3 of them), as I'll be heading to NY for a couple of weeks before heading to Texas and my fiance is going back home to Australia for a couple of weeks so he can see his family before he meets me in Texas.

I didn't know you could request your interview date though! I wonder if the US London Embassy will allow that.. from what the paperwork says, I need to send in all the forms, get the medical organized, make sure I've got everything off of the checklist, send that in as well and then they will contact me as to when the interview date will be.

I might ring them to ask actually.. =D
