Jengles....from what I understand now, the total fee for AOS of the K-1 includes the EAD, AP, and AOS. 3 forms with supporting evidence, processed seperately; but sent in together with the one fee. If you decide to only do AOS, you still pay the same fee.

Yeah, that's right Kel. The fee for AOS is $1010 whether u file the EAD and AP with it or not. Some people wait to send off the EAD and AP paperwork till after they get a receipt notice (I-797) from their AOS packet but while ur already paying the fee....u might as well "apply" for all 3 documents at one time.

U can still apply for the SS# regardless if u got the JFK work stamp or not. He just can't work until you've gotten married and he has his EAD.

Since we're on the topic.....LOL.....DAVE STARTED HIS NEW JOB TODAY!!!!!!!:dance: He got his SS# last friday and applied at a bunch of places this week, thinking he'd be lucky to get anything with the JFK work stamp. One of the larger grocery store chains called him in yesterday for an interview and he started today!

Congrats to Dave!! That's great news.

Ditto Ton-Ton!! So happy to hear!! Tell em 'good luck' han knock em dead...Show dem ow wi 'Yardies' do!!

Gill

That's right Gill, I told dave just do his best and enjoy the experience. The store manager hired him for customer service/ warehouse crew but he's already training him for some of the other departments next week. If nothing else, atleast he'll gain experience and get references if he moves onto another job.

I hope things are going well at Ken's job too! It's because of you two that me and dave even went the JFK route, and it worked out. LOLLLLL

Hey Yardies,,,

Still trying to help Ray with the paperwork he needs to take to the embassy. I'll be scheduling his appt to drop off the DS-230 as soon as Kingston receives my case. Ugh... It was sent off on 6/13 and NVC is staying Kingston doesn't have it yet. I could have walked it to JA fastest... I hope he gets an appt soon because I want him here with me like RIGHT NOW!!!!! LOL

Nish, so glad Dave got his job quick. When is the wedding so I can drive up there? I still haven't been able to post your pics because I'm still trying to figure out how to post scanned photos.

Congrat Lita, that baby is soo friggin cute girl.... I know you'll spoil her rotten.

Gill, I know what you mean about people not thinking our relationships will work. I'm ready to prove them yacko's wrong too....

Jason, tell Marla "Things happen" no need to feel bad... That's what insurance is for. We pay for years and years and never use it.....

Hey Mich......I didn't wait for Kingston to "receive" my case when I started emailing them. I just got the KNG# from the NVC right over the phone and just started emailing away! LOLLLL

Even if Kingston doesn't technically have ur case, u can still email them about the DS230 drop off. What they did for me and dave is just scheduled a drop off date that was about 2 weeks away and it worked out fine. Some may of had a difference experience and tell u to wait but me and Gill didn't and things went just fine.

Try to get the KNG# from the NVC and then work from there. If we would of waited till Kingston had the petition in their office, it would have pushed our drop off date back by about 3-4 weeks. We would have never gotten an April interview that fast if i hadn't started communicating with them beforehand.

Try it and see what happens. ;)

Try it and see what happens. ;)

Thanks Nish, I already have the Kingston #. I received that in the mail. I'll send them an e-mail today and hopefully they will read it Monday. Thanks a bunch...

Just a little thing to share..

ONLY IN JAMAICA...lol

You're the ackee in my saltfish

Condensed milk in my tea

The patty in my coco bread

Without you there is no me.

Just like coconut water

You're good for my heart

And Mr.Wray without his nephew

Is like when we are apart.

When you wrap your arms around me

Like banana leaf on blue draws

There is nothing I wouldn't do for you

You know that I'm all yours.

I want to be with you always

Like when tin milk get short

An dem marry it to de mackerel

to make sure de mackerel get bought.

Like carrot juice on Sunday

Mango in the summertime

I can't get enough of you

Please tell me you will be mine.

The Rastaman

A Rastaman went to visit an old family friend. The Rastaman

knock pon di door and smaddy inside seh : ' a who dat?'

The rastaman said: ' It is I and I, Jah Rastafari, Kings of kings, Lord of lords, conquering lion of the tribe of Judah, son of Haile Selassie I'.

The person inside replied: ' A me one deh yah and mi nah open mi door fi so much a oonu'.

Mix Up!

Lecturer: Use the words: 'defence','defeat' and 'detail' to make a complete sentence.

BA Student: Di dawg jump over de fence and de feet went before de tail.

TEN THINGS YOU WILL NEVER HEAR A JAMAICAN MAN SAY!

1.'No wifey, tek my car instead.'

2.'Waiter, this steak is overcooked.'

3.'She 'ave a nice body........but 'ar bottom too big.'

4.'Wha'apen Mr.Deejay, you cyaah play some calypso?' (I don't agree with this one)

5.'Di pill doan gree wid mi wife so ah go get a vasectomy.'

6.'No sweetie, ah cyaah tek anodda whites(rum), mi haffi drive all de way to Kingston and

it dark and wet outside.'

7.'Some ah mi closest friend dem gay.'

8.'Size don't matter.'

9.'Yeah mi eat under 2 foot table.'

10.'Nuff Respect to Brian Lara.'

ONLY IN JAMAICA

Citizens have to protect police from gunman.

You will have police cars parked at rum bars. And there is a rum bar at most police station

Girls fat up themselves with fowl pill and bleach out them skin with toothpaste.

Country people a carry water and wood pon dem head and cell phone and ipod pon dem waist.

The more mess politician mek is the more pay dem get.

You have bicycle-by shootings.

Police go to arrest tief and don't have a handcuff.

It's the greatest tourist attraction: RENT A DREAD! (an dem betta eat unda 2 foot table)

Traffic is so bad dat you reach work quicker walking than driving.

Firefighter reach di fire scene and have no water to out the fire.

You know you are in Jamaica when you have a pothole so big when you drop in, you caan come out.

Nowhere else in the world could you go and find such peace and contentment wid so much madness and c onfusion at the same time.

I liked these! I don't agree with the Calypso thing either. What does the 2 foot table mean? I have an idea but never heard this statement.
