From a 100% Irish girl 36_15_29.gif

I'm Irish too. Well, my dad's grandmother is Irish/Scotish. So, YES...I'm an Irish Jamaican.

Girl go buy that Coach purse. Sounds so nice and pretty!! The wallet sounds good to like Shauna said.

Did you gals ever show your budgets to your husbands? I did when he first got here and that helped us. I did buy him a few things. Like a computer for school and his car so he could get there. But he hasn't asked for anything and is so on top of this budget. I think that might also be because we have a baby on the way. The best plus I ever did was get rid of the credit cards before he got here so we wouldn't go into debt.

Shauna @ Congrats on the arrival of the green card yesterday. Wow that took forever...

Gill @ Sorry to hear about your situation may their be something better in your guys future.

Shem @ if your reading this as a guest now you will be missed. Maybe we will cross paths in JA this August. It was wonderful talking to you and finding out that our hubbies were neighbors. And all the best on receiving the 10 year green card.

Good afternoon Ladies!!!

Well we just got our tax refund now I am trying to stay in budget on planning or trip to Montego Bay. I am use to buying for one now I have to buy for three. :star: I might have to look for four hubby invited our neighbor who use to live in Mo Bay for one year. :luv: I should ask my girlfriend to go with me but I don't know how much fun I would be with a baby.

Oh cool I am going to go look at those swim suits. I am worried I wont loss this weight I gained by July.

Talking about fish that is making me hungry. Our cousin is going to take us the Jamaican Grocery store in the next 2 weeks. He is also going to make us dinner and teach us how to cook  . I can't wait. I am glad we found out he has a cousin only an hour away.

Yes, on the budget thing. It was the only thing that helped him realize what I was saying. He's really good at asking how much money is left over this check if he really wants something. He's also gotten very good at knowing when the stores have end of season clearance.

Does it matter if you owe taxes every year? What exactly is it that they want to see? Also, is there a certain amount of money you should have in your bank account? I only plan on providing information on one of my bank accounts, but was wondering if I need to provide information on all three. This of course is whenever I get to this point. Just curious....

Depends upon how much you make Sunny. One interviewer did take those returns...SERIOUSLY!! She was like your SO OWES ALOT of TAXES EVERY YEAR and is barely able to take care of herself...

Just open an ING account now and start throwing whatever you can into! I get $$ back but my savings was pitiful. That's what I did...but they didn't even ask for the blasted bank statement!!!

Bless,Gill

Thanks Gill,

I'm not too worried... Just because you owe taxes doesn't mean you can't take care of yourself, so I don't know where they got that from. lol For me, I simply prefer to have my money during the year. It's a shame you spend all that time preparing all your paperwork and then they don't even ask for it. Well, at least you saved some money girl...lol

LOL......Yeah, i thought that was kinda weird too cause plenty of people owe taxes who can certainly take care of themselves  They just didn't tax themselves hard enough over the course of the year and stuff like that but it still wouldn't change how much they EARNED for that year.

Guess that was the interviewer's way of trying to "imply" that anyone who owes taxes might be someone who has some sort of financial problems etc.....Probably wasn't the best thing to say LOL

The thing with that is it is none of their business if you have financial problems or not. If they wanted to check that, they should make it a rule to have to have a credit report first. The rules state you have to MAKE the 125% over the poverty level or have enough other assets to cover that amount. Nothing else.

I saw that too and I thought of you the minute I saw it! Appears UK petitions get approved mighty fast as there was a couple other ones that were in the 19-23 day mark in the past couple of weeks. I'm watching for your approval soon and hope I will be next in line! Appears there is not much logic to the way they process them............

Didn't have an actual budget till my hubby came.

I've always had a budget. I can't live without one. When I was in my 20s my friends would laugh at me for using COUPONS (whatever). I was saving at least $10.00 per trip to the grocery store. And I buy EVERYTHING off season. Bought a pair of boots that was $279 org. price at Macys's -- I paid $39.99 for it. I can't beat that. My brother bought a floor demo TV that was selling for $2995 (new) for $595. He's had it for 2 years now no problems. I love bargains. I have friends that flat out REFUSE to shop at Walmart, Target, Sears, Kmart. I just don't get it. I tried to explain to my girlfriend if you can find the SAME white blouse at sears for $19.99 why pay $79.00 for it at Lord and Taylors.

i know i thought for sure when jax found out she was having a girl i would be having a boy...oh well...maybe the techs were wrong...since i first found out that i was preggo i always felt like it was going to be a girl....if not i hope a boy looks cute in pink

i am feeling fine...i have offically reached the point where i am just uncomfortable and just feel tired all the time.....

your little girl is SO SO cute!!!! how are you doing adjusting to everything?

My girlfriend has a theory that more people are having girls now because of all the hormones in the foods we eat! I have no idea if there's any truth to it, but in my childbirth preparation class, out of about 8 of us, only 1 was having a boy!!

The adjustment is hard. I miss my little one every time I have to leave her :crying:
