Hi everyone,

I would like to thank everyone again for welcoming me to this board a month ago when I joined. I haven't been on much due to being extremely busy at work and trying to put together my K1 petition, oh yea and when I'm not doing that, I'm always sleeping :) I'm almost done with the application and I'm planning to send it early next week, just waiting on the G-325A from my SO and I have to take my passport pic.

Anyway, wanted to say congrats to the ladies who got approved! must be a big relief to say the least. I've just caught up with the last few pages and saw the two reports on the embassy experience, now I'm a little worried and was hoping to get some clarification:

1) I was told the fiancee was not required to be with the SO at the interview. I'm thinking if we get lucky enough, and lets say my SO gets an interview when I'm in my third trimester and really pregnant and can't travel to go to the interview with him, will this be held against him? If the interview is some time after I give birth, I def. plan to be there.

2) The G325A form asks for employment history for last 5 years. My SO was attending UWI until this last semester when he was forced to take a leave cause he couldn't afford tuition, when he did work during this time, it was doing odd jobs and not on the books. He just recently was able to get a legit job. Will this be held against him? Should I put that he was a student in that section, or leave it blank?

3)I've gathered pretty much all of the evidence that we have to prove our relationship including pictures, emails, phone records, and travel itineraries. The problem is when I flew there to see him I did not keep the boarding passes  I was thinking of copying the stamps on my passport and putting it together with the email confirmations that I received when I booked my airfare online. Is this enough proof of travel? I don't have prove of hotel receipts b/c my SO paid for the hotel when I visited.

4)Finally, how do I put together all that information? in a binder with tabs? scrapbook?

Thanks!

ps: sorry for the long post.

You can just write student.

Use the passport stamps. You can just copy the pages.

I used a folder, ACCO clips, and tabbed sections. Andre took copied pictures and scrapbooks.

I did not attend the interview. He was well prepared and did just fine on his own.

Welcome :luv: I will try to answer some of your questions. It is not a requirement (yet) to attend the interview with your fiance. However, if at all possible, we recommend that you do attend because YOU are the best proof that he has. It seems that less questions are asked and less hassel when the U.S citizen is present. If you are still pregnant, send proof with your fiance so he can explain why you're not there if they ask (doctors note, ultrasound, etc.)

On the G325 I would put STUDENT - it will not be held against him. It's YOUR employment they're concerned with to make sure you can support him when he comes here.

Definately, copy the passport pages that have the Jamaica entry/exit stamps. Also, did you charge anything on a credit card while there - meals, shopping, etc.?? I included some misc. receipts for more proof that I was indeed in JA during the times I said I was. You might even be able to get a copy of your ticket/receipt from the airline if you feel you need to, but I think the passport stamps will suffice.

A binder with tabs would work to put it all together. I used a 2 hole punch and punched holes at the top of everything and put it all together with a table of contents and colored tabs. I've heard that the more organized you are, the better.

Good luck. Hope this helps.

You're not "required" its just "recommended" A big recommendation being that its a big interview. But if your preggers and can't make it I'd send a letter stating this with a photo of you and your belly....that should be more than fine and prob benefit your interview.

He doesn't have to be working. Just include a seperate sheet stating the exact circumstances you stated here. Treat this application like a resume. Employees like to know why there were breaks in your employment. As long as you explain the situation and not leave it to them to guess you should be fine. many people don't work while in school so that is not a problem at all.

Your stamped passport is more than enough. Don't worry too much bout hotel receipts cause many people just stay at the SO's house of with family so that is not a required item. Just showing that you were on the island an photos with you and SO are good. Emails, letters, phone bills are good too.

4)Finally, how do I put together all that information? in a binder with tabs? scrapbook? Just put it in an organized manner. clipped together. You can have 1 folder of envelope of all the "proof of visits and relationship info". The service center just pulls it all apart anyway and puts it in their own format. As long as you look organized your good. I would suggest if your photos are digital to just put them in a word document with a caption under each and print mutliple photos to one sheet. This i think is better than giving loose photos but thats just my opinion.

Thanks!

ps: sorry for the long post.

Mawning Fams,

I just thought of something for those filing after me!

Make sure you have a copy of your original petition. Make a copy and send it to your SO. That's where they get MAJORITY of their questions from...duh! I didn't realize that until I keep seeing the same pattern of questions being asked over and over again.

Also if you haven't filed yet. Make your description of how you met as brief and concise as possible. The more details you give them...the more questions they can ask! I only wrote a paragraph of how we met (because I was too dyam lazy & annoyed fuh go inna more details at the time). But it worked out for the best in the end!

For those of you that have interviews coming up...GET YOUR 2007 tax returns!! If you have those for whatever reason they are pleased! You DO NOT have to have the transcripts for 2007...just the return. Nuff people went up with 2006 and they seemed annoyed...some people even got a blue slip to come back when they have them!

Hmmmmm...I think that's it!

Bless, Gill

P.S.- How is everyone tiddeh?

Hey Gill....Welcome Back!

Thanks for the info about the interview process....you shoulda seen the Post I made last week while u were away.....I think I'm taking TOO much info, actually.....

Congrats!

Hey Chica,

Thanks...you probably are...but better to be safe than sorry! They didn't ask mi for NADA...no bank statement, no employment letter(s), cell phone bills...Ken had to ask her if she wanted to see pictures...NOPE! They know if you are for real...or not! Mi seh carrying around dat big heavy file folder and dem just want what they want!

Go wid halla tings dem hennyweh, Sweets! You'll be fine!

Bless,Gill

Gill, I met to tell you. You said you was wearing a black dress, right? I think my friend was either sitting near you or standing near you and Ken inside. She too heard a lot of people getting denied and they're no discrete about it. It took her a while to get through, because they mixed up her paperwork. People getting the wrong answers as far as dates and names and how many kids your fiancee, wife, husband have. She said it was just crazy. And I too agree, you have to look PRESENTABLE. That goes a long way and SMILE (even if you don't mean it) and be polite. Nothing wrong with asking what's taking so long, just be polite about it.

Gill how long did it take you to get through.

EXACTLY LAWNY!!! We got in around 8am, and had our answer and were out by 11am!! It's just that people dat came after us left before us! Plus I'm a smoker and...to be that stressed and your cigarettes are with the Rasta outside was making me CRAZY!!! I NEEDED a cigarette (I didn't know you couldn't smoke on Embassy grounds (#######?)) Everytime, I'd get up to go get one....Ken would be like they gonna call me now han you're gonna miss it! I couldn't even go to the darn bathroom b/c of his paranoia!:blink:

Then I had a meltdown in the middle of downtown Kingston! We were so busy chatting and celebrating...we passed our stop for the Portmore bus! So, here I am walking around Kingston ...DOWNTOWN KINGSTON dressed to the nines and people looking at us like grade 'A' Steaks and my man gets lost!! I was like "I WANT A CAB NOW!!!!!!! I WANT MY BAY!!" Mi seh Ken give mi wan bad look! I just shut up and stumped all the way to the 'bus terminal'! Dyam I was a big Baby! I can laugh now! I felt like I had a HUGE 'F' on my back for 'Farrin'...plus Ken is dressed and looking around like we are in times square! I wouldn't want to go through that mess again! I'm sorry but the downtown Kingston I knew as a child is GONE!!!

It didn't even look like the same place! So dyam sad!

Anyway...I got totally off topic...sorry yeah about 3 hours Lawns!

Bless,Gill
