Stupid question:

Do we mail the I-134 to Montreal before the interview or is it just given to them at the interview?

Thanks :)

I'm pretty sure that you just bring it to the interview Laura!

Although, I have a dumb question myself! Does anyone know what to put if you don't know your father's exact birthplace or current address? I haven't spoken to him in many years. I'm wondering if I can just put unknown?! (This is on DS-230)

You can put unknown, they just want to know what you know and if you don't know you can't tell them :)

If you want to get that information - date and place of his birth - you could get the full certified photocopy of your birth certificate, it should be on there.

Laura, I know cause when I posted a similar thread after our NOA2, kimmbo told me! ~giggles~ Thanks Kimmbo! Also, if you click on Embassy Info at the top of the page you can look at the Packet 3 from Montreal and figure out exactly what you need and how to do it! I guess I'd better stop procrastinating and actually get this stuff filled in huh? Packet 3 is coming soon!

Okay, another quick silly question, on DS-230 where it talks about Spousal info, are they asking for previous spouses as well? Or just if you're currently married? I've been divorced and I want to make sure I fill it out correctly!

I have a question too. Does a Tb skin test need to be done? Is that done during the medical? If so, how do you get it read 2-3 days later then (if you aren't near any site that does medicals).

At what point does the medical get scheduled? When packet 3 comes or first when packet 4 comes (with interview date assigned).

I'm the USC...anybody know exactly what I need to send to my fiance (if anything) now? I'm going to the interview with him so I can bring the I-134 stuff then right?

3/5/11 sent LOC paperwork

3/9/11 date of NOA

?/?/?? biometrics appointment

Laura, Nick can get the I-134 form on line, and you can get the DS-230, DS-156K, and DS-156 forms on line as well. The DS forms are here: http://evisaforms.state.gov/. The I-134 is in the "immigration forms" section of USCIS's site. There are also links in the "downloads" section on VJ, but there is one that does not work (one of the DS ones, but I can't remember which one). There is another financial form--the OF-167--which is not available on line.

For Vancouver, you just have to fax back the checklist they send you and part I of the DS-230; the rest you bring with you to the interview. I am not sure whether Montreal handles this differently, but as Amy suggested, if you look at the consulate reviews for Montreal, you should be able to find the actual packet 3 checklist. I know this is not going to help Laura, but for anyone else, here is G&A's Vancouver review, which I have found very helpful (with links to just about everything you need): http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/inde...p;cty=Vancouver.

CBR, we are at the same stage. I'm not sure exactly when he should be scheduling the medical either (as in can he do it now or does he need to wait until he has packet 3?) but I am pretty sure you don't want to wait for packet 4. Theoretically, when you send back the checklist, you are supposed to already have all the documents, so you should probably at least have scheduled the appointment at that point. I'm hoping someone who is further along can give a better answer than this. If you are going to the interview with him, I don't think there is anything you need to send him. At least for Vancouver, the only things that need to be sent back before the interview are the DS 230 part I and the checklist (which he will get from the consulate0, so everything else you can bring with you.

I also have an I-134 question, and (unlike Laura's) this one really is a bit dumb (so I don't want to ask out in the general K1 board). I know that if my income is well above the poverty line so I don't need to rely on assets for support, I don't need to give any information about anything other than my income. But what do I put in the boxes asking about assets? Is it okay to just put N/A? I'm a bit concerned that this will lead them to think either I am withholding information or that I make a pretty good salary but have no assets because I spend too much time at the riverboat casinoes or something.

Good question!! I've began looking at the forms for Packet 3. My fiance makes well over the poverty line but has no assets. Is it alright to put N/A? I'm worried they will think he might not have enough to support me.. even though he makes over the poverty line.

I put none. I don't have a house, car isn't paid for and I don't own anything worthwhile lol. If you don't have assets you can't make them up. If you are over 125% you don't need to bother with it. Every post I've read so far also states that if you are over 125% you don't need the bank statement either (only need tax info, few check stubs from your job and the employer letter). I was figuring the bank statement refers to savings anyway. Why would they care about a checking account right? That money comes and goes....fast.

LMAO This made me laugh out loud!!!

Hon, I think it's okay if you don't put them on there...you make well over the 125%, you are good.

*hugs*
