We just called NVC to check on our status if there are no more problems or if we are near completion and well guess what we found out, they are sending our I-864 form because there was a problem in PART 8 line 30....my husband typed in his name and NVC requires it to be handwritten, they said its the rule it doesn't matter if the signature is affixed. The petitioner's name should be handwritten. Oh well, we are sending the corrected one today. She (the operator) said we don't have to wait for the letter to come from NVC.

Just another tip to avoid RFE. Goodluck!

I'm really surprised that they can be so picky. The form does say to print, not necessarily hand print. It can easily be misinterpreted. I believe others have typed in their information and have had no problem. We need some more common sense and the NVC.......

OH NO, :( I printed on that line and sign below. So do I need to re-do the entire form? or just send that last page? I just sent it and it's not showing it's been received as yet.

Thanks for the advice.... I am getting ready to fill out the I-864 form and this info really helps.

Which is better.....>> Printing out the I-864 and writing everything in or to just do it online and then print out and fill in the empty spots like the Part 8 line 30??

Thanks again for the heads up!!
