congratz! 2 weeks ago? can't believe they still aren't there yet!! Well the main thing is that you guys have been approved :) What kind of questions did they ask?

Well, we walked up to the window with the consular officer, he looked at me and said "You must be the US citizen" and I replied yes, and he asked me where I lived. And I replied in North Carolina, and he then asked where, and I said Raleigh, suburbs. He asked which suburb, and I told him Cary, and he said, yeah, I've been there quite a few times. So at first in my mind I was like, hello, you aren't supposed to be interviewing me . He then picked up Stephen's passport and ask something to the effect that he was a British citizen (Duh, his passport says UK), guess that's what we get with him currently residing in Germany :)

Anyhow, then he asked how we met, which Stephen told him (and spun off into when and where we got engaged), he then asked if Stephen had been to the US, and if he had met my parents, (then looked at me, so I volunteered I'd met his mother as well, and that we had pictures if he was interested). He then was asked when he planned on going to the US, and Stephen answered as soon as possible (the officer smiled). The officer then asked if Stephen planned to work, and Stephen answered yes, and the officer then asked what kind of work Stephen did, and he told him his training was as a chef, which the officer replied something along the lines of oh, wow, you won't have any problems finding something in the US, always looking for good chefs!!!! The officer wrapped things up with when we were planning on getting married. Stephen told him September 20th, and then interjected that we would be having a civil service sometime in June.

And he then said, everything was in order, and as soon as they had the medical results they would issue the visa. We both looked at him, and I asked, so that means we are approved? And the officer answered, definitely, yes!! He then took Stephen's fingerprint scans, then the officer signed the required documents, and we were done. We turned around, walked out very calmly through the building we were in, through the courtyard, and then through the security entrance, down the embassy sidewalk, to the street, and then we both did the happy dance

And the actual interview took all of 5 minutes. When we first got in, it was about 1-2 minutes and our number was up on the board. Then the first window took about 1 minute, to get told how to organize the paperwork, and hand in the passport photo. Then we walked away, organized the stuff, had a coffee, and within 10 minutes, our number was up again to goto another window. We went to that window, and spent about 5 minutes, being asked questions about the forms that were returned with packet 3. We finished with that, and sat down again, and probably waited about 20-25 minutes for the final window with the consular officer.

Thinking back on it now, it's almost difficult to remember, it was a very surreal experience ... but an exciting end, definitely!!!!!!
