January Filers at the CSC - How are you doing?

Hello everyone! :)

This is my first post here. I've been reading the whole thread though as my sweetie and I are January filers. I'm starting to feel the anticipation even more, especially since it seems like things could pick up in May. Great!

I do have a question though. I'm planning to travel to the US (I'm the beneficiary) to see my sweetheart at the end of June and I'm wondering if that's a good idea since from all I've read here, it seems like some of the papers in the package need to be filled ASAP. Am I dreaming too much in thinking it might get here while I'm in the US?

Hello and welcome!

It may certainly get there while you are in the US - but that shouldn't be a problem unless you're planning to stay more than a couple of months. I believe your NoA2 remains valid for four months so you can take your time in preparing package 3 to send back.

January Filers....

We've officially broken the 100 mark on Igor's List!!!!!!!!! Tonight during the 10:00pm update (Seattle time), Ayako and Nathan busted through at #99.

Let's wrap up these poor October and November folks, and start flying NOA2's out the door for December's and January's!!!! I can feel it, May is OUR MONTH!

Hurrah! May'd better be - because April certainly wasn't!

Welcome Pandora01!

There are 18 October filers, 22 November filers and 58 December filers left from what Igor's list says. And then, it's our turn! (well, that would be if CSC was processing in the right order of course). It feels so good to wake up and see some new approvals!

I've been having troubles to sleep lately. Thinking too much isn't good I guess :P

So, it seems that Bryan and I will get an apartment instead of living with at his friends' house (where he's currently living) He said everyday there are more things he dislike about being there, either the barking of the dogs, people waking him up in the middle of the night, the mess, etc. And I made a list of our future expenses and all in all, it should be feasible. And that way we will have our own place :) yesterday one of his emails said: "I'm so very happy that we are really starting to plan our life together!" It makes me so happy too :)

 Awesome! If you can get your own place I think adjusting to living in a new country and enjoying the first year of your marriage will be so much easier. I hope he manages to find a good apartment!

I'm having no problems sleeping. In fact I'm having trouble waking up in the mornings! :dead:

Sometimes it is difficult having technology-illiterate bosses. Usually problems occur when I'm attempting to explain how e-mails work. Today I'm worrying about a particular computer.

Our office recently finally replaced our old, obsolete machines with new models and a couple of the old ones were taken away, wiped clean and given a fresh reinstall of Windows XP. One of these computers was taken home by my boss to give to his son. Now, his son's a teenager and I'm presuming that he'll be wanting to use it to play games. I ordered a monitor for it last week (a 19' TFT with a decent response time) and today I've been asked to order speakers and find a lead for the power supply. All of this implies his son hasn't had a chance to turn the computer on yet and I'm really worried he's going to be severely disappointed. Having been familiar with the old computers I can tell him that it has no graphics card, no sound card, (only onboard for both) only 256 mb of RAM (so XP is going to run horribly slowly) and I'm not even certain that it has so much as a DVD drive (it may only have a CD-RW). He'll be lucky to be playing games that are 5-6 years old, let alone anything recent or even watching DVD movies. :help:

Having our own place would be awesome, yes. At the same time, being close to his friends would have had its advantages too: I wouldn't feel too lonely while he's at work, there would always be someone with a car to drive me wherever I want :P, and it would be easier to become friends with all of them. Or we would all hate each others and end up killing someone :P

I'm sure he will find a wonderful place :)

Yes, your boss's son is going to be very disappointed if the only games he can play are minesweeper and solitary... :S

Good morning all :)

A little hello to say that I'm still alive.

I know I don't post so much... its because... you know... it's hard

I prefer right now to post on my blog, like that I don't see VSC approvals...

So, I hope this week will show a lot of approvals from CSC!

Hugs and Kisses

Hello MissYoko

Don't worry, the approvals will start again and soon we will be telling all our friends that we are approved! (even though half of them won't know exactly what it means :P)

Ooh yes getting your own place to start off in will def be best move in helping with the whole adjustment process!

I need to remind myself a lot that Gareth has never done this before etc...I am an ex military wife soooo I moved at 18 and lived overseas for 10 years so I am kinda numb to it all. I know he is going to go through some adjustment patches! I think us having our own space and own "life" so to speak to get on with will def help him through!

Thanks for the welcome :)

I'll be there only for three weeks so I guess it won't be a problem then. Good! Makes me feel better. I'm so eager to be with my darling again. I miss him so much!!!

Well a ton of us are already over the 90 day and 100 day mark for waiting........ :( We are at 101 currently and I know there are loads more of us that have been waiting over 90 days! Some sadly over 200 days!!! So yeah here's hoping Cali starts kicking them out here in May and ends some of our misery!

I know...I just meant that when I hit 90 days was when I would admit that I was hoping to hear something. I'm not sure if that makes sense when I say it out loud...it was just pointless to even hope before that. I figured I would start admitting to myself that I hoped to hear something at three months...and I'd start really looking for something at four. :)

I understand what you mean aravis227. When we hit 3 months I started telling myself: "ok that will be 4 months then". And now, we are going to hit 120 days soon... so I'm going to hope for an approval before 150 :)

if the csc is slow like this we would not hear anything before 6 months so everybody gets ready for 6 months ..there is nothing we can do as you see they do not move at all lately and waiting line getting longer and longer ..

I don't think it's stupid Missyoko. I definitely have hope, too! A lot of people get approved without any problems...there are some who are get held back and we'll never understand why, and I pray for them that they get their approvals soon...but I don't think it means we should give up hope. CSC has been really slow...but that's happened in the past this time of year...then they suddenly speed up. They seem to be doing that again, it's Wednesday and we've already seen two approvals...plus all of the approvals from the last couple of weeks that suddenly showed up. I think we have every reason to hope we'll see four month approvals.

AH! Speaking of hope...I broke through the 200 mark sometime last night! I'm now 198 on Igor's list. YAY! :goofy:

OMG why do I feel like it's Tuesday today? I was going to tell you that you were wrong, but then I checked and yes, it's already the middle of the week. bah my mind is probably playing tricks with me...

Congratulations on being 198! that's a small victory, but one small step, followed by another one, and then again and again, makes a big victory in the end :) (and a beautiful wedding in that specific case :P)
