Nope we will send out closer to Christmas or first week of January. Too much other stuff on our minds lately!

Yep, We already sent our AOS! at the end of September ; ) Do you have any questions or doubts?

I'm a little bit worried about mine though... I was expecting a RFE and I didn't get one yet, whereas everybody has their RFE within the first month they sent it. Basically, I didn't send the I 693 and I only gave 2 pictures instead of 6....So it means, that maybe I'm lucky and they won't ask for it, or that they will ask me to do my medical thing when I'll be at the green card interview... who knows...

My AOS was sent the second week of October, I'm expecting an RFE too for the I-693 (didn't send one, couldn't find any good info about it at that time so I figured I'll wait for the RFE to see what they really want)

05/15/09 Conditional green card received

We did the I-693, but I'm worried about the TB skin test that is a new requirement...we were JUST after they implemented the rule and no one seems to know anything about it. I'm scared they'll RFE for it. We had it done, but none of the CSs will transcribe the results unless they do a full physical...hmm...let's see, an additional $300-ish that might be unnecessary? No thanks.

That's weird that they don't want to transcribe the results... I feel like in the US medicine is more about money then health! especially USCIS medecine...

We sent our AOS in the begining of October, and I am also wondering about an RFE!

I did sent my I-693, but the civil surgeon did know about the TB test requirements, so she did not transcribe that one!

I have to wait for an RFE, and then I can call her again, and have her to transcribe it... more than a month now, and still waiting! We will see!

Well got SS office done today with no troubles at all. They asked Gareth for permanent residence card and I said how we hadn't gotten to that step yet and that according to immigration website we didn't need that, just the visa/passport and marriage license. So she was all "oh ok" and typed up stuff and said we both would have our cards within next 10 days.

So here's hoping they both really show up! Changing all bank info over as well and then will go get my new drivers license next week sometime.

Then onto good ole AOS stuff.

Congrats on the ease at the SS office. :) That's how ours was...the guy that Dennis talked to actually said he'd already done three others that day! :o

I sent out my AOS/EAD/AP today.. Not the I-693 though...I don't know where all the sudden fuzz about the I-693 comes from but we don't have to submit that one as we are in the US through the K1 process and we had our medical done back in our own countries within the last year...

The guide here on Visajourney says:

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.

And that's what the instructions of the I-485 say too:

If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement, not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment-of-status application.

So what I basically submit was the vaccination supplement that we got with our x-rays (form DS-3025) and from what I think, that form alone should be enough.

Here's another part of the FAQ here on visajourney:

6.2.2)....Will I need to take another medical exam since the medical report is only good for one year??

A...In most cases, no. The results of your K1/K2 medical were in the "sealed envelope" that you brought with you from your home country. The I-485 instructions mention that no additional medical is required if filing for AOS within a year of the medical required to obtain the K1/K2. You should simply send in a copy of the I693 (sheet that lists your vaccinations) that your doctor should have provided overseas when you had your medical. And...according to a newsgroup posting...."Went up to the local USCIS (INS) office in Omaha today and they told me that the letter saying "Adjustment of Status / I130 Interview" is just a form letter they send out whether you've applied under a I485 OR a I130.... They also told me that, despite what the letter says, I do NOT need to get another medical done even though its been more than 12 months since my K1 medical at the London Embassy."

FAQ Note: The current I-485 instructions mention a "vaccination supplement". Again as a K1 / K2 Visa holder you should have a copy of this from your exam overseas. If not you will need to make an appointment with an USCIS (INS) approved physician in your area to obtain this paperwork and/or additional vaccinations.

So I think that if you submitted the vaccination sheet that you received with your x-ray and stuff, that you should be safe :)

Valerie went on October 23rd and took care of her SSN. Same thing here in San Diego. They zipped through the paperwork, had her sign, and said that it might be up to 4 weeks for her to get her card. But, here we are 5 weeks later, and nothing yet. Val called the SS Office, and they said that they haven't verified her immigration status yet. So who knows? We presented her passport w/visa and I-94, and our marriage certificate. Everything seemed like it was in order. We'll see.

In other news, we filed for AOS and EAD. We received an RFE on the EAD due to an outdated form, and we also received an RFE on the AOS because I only submitted my W-2's. I guess they also needed my actual tax return. Needless to say, both were sent back and received, so hopefully our process will resume shortly. Valerie had her biometrics done on the 18th, and they were able to take care of both EAD and AOS at the same time, despite different appointment dates. I guess some things do work out in our favor! ;)

Yes, it's only the vaccination thing to give for AOS. And that's a big fuzz! at least for me..because they ask for TB skin test in addition (which means additional lots of money) . and for women under 26 and 26 included, HPV, which my doctor in France advised me not to do. He says it's crazy to make me do this vaccine for a women my age and with my medical past... But the USCIS civil surgeon, whereas it's Dr Arnold or my local one, don't care about that. and they will do this HPV thing anyway, because that's what it says on the document. So, if they ask me to complete the I 693, I'll just wait to be 27! :P

They changed the I-693 and the requirements for anyone who had their medical AFTER 8/1. Since ours was 8/8, we are subject to the new requirements. The guide here at VJ hasn't been updated yet since it was so recent. A lot of K1 people over on the AOS forum have gotten RFEs for NOT submitting an I-693, even if it was just with the vaccinations on it.

You also might want to check the address on the receipt that they gave you.. in both my case and in my wife's name change, they mistyped the housenumber :S

Thats odd coz I didn't see anything new on the USCIS AOS instructions either and you might expect it to be there :S

But oh well, if it is for people after August the 1st, then I think I have not much to worry (and neither should the posters above who had their medical on time worry then I think :) ).

I do think, however, that it is messed up that they changed it.. its going to cost a lot of people a lot of extra money :S

Also, for the information/guide here on VJ.. I know it is kind of absolete, I had to get a lot of information for my AOS on different websites... they clearly haven't updated it in a while, which is kind of sad since the AOS looks like the hardest part in the whole process.

I'll just wait to be 27! :P

lol, smart.. i do, however, hope that they look at your current age and not to the age of when you submitted it all ;)
