Hi

I am in a bit of confusion and need advise.

Basically, we got approved yesterday and we were not expecting this so soon.

My company is sending me to canada for 2 months(would be back in Jue) and i would b travelling in march end.

I beleive NOA2 is valid for 4 months and the latest i can have interview is in June.

So can you please advise on the following:

1.Can i have my interview in canada

2.If i have to have it in india, are there any things/forms/formalities that i can finsh before i travel to canada.

My concern is that i i come in june ,i will get packet 3 and 4 late and then interview will be later than june and by that time my NOA2 will ntot be invalid.

So , i m just concerend how can we avoid all the trouble and plan in such a way that i get my visa in June.

Please advise

Thanks

I'm from Canada, and I'm pretty sure as a visitor you can't have an interview in Canada. Depending on where you live in Canada, your interview at the Consulate could take months and months anyway. Best to plan for returning to India in June and having your interview then.

You might want to start preparing your paperwork for your interview however. Maybe do a time search or ask in your appropriate forum, what paperwork you will need. I can't comment on India, but for all countries the petitioner (your USC fiance) will have to provide an Affidavit of Support. You're going to have to have a medical, maybe some vaccinations and a police report. I'd get on the police report right away (a name check, if you don't have a criminal record) from every country you've lived more than 6 months since your 16th birthday. I don't know how long the medicals take in India, that in itself might be hurried. If it takes a long time to book an appointment, you might want to have your physical while in Canada. They give it to you in a sealed envelope, so you could bring it back to India for your interview. As well, you're going to have to pay for it anyway, so not having health coverage in Canada won't be an issue if you're going to go to a US civil surgeon in Canada.

Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure you CANT have your interview in Canada as well.

However if you ever need an extention of your NOA2.....USCIS can renew it once for another 4 months..

Good luck on your journey! (F)
