It's been a while since I've been On the site. I was recently visiting Eric for two weeks.

As some of you know, I have had issues with U.S. Customs in the past and I just wanted to share what happened this time while going to see Eric. While going through customs, they always ask questions like why I'm going, how long I'll be staying and I always provide evidence that I'll be returning back to Canada. This time, I showed them the I-129 paper. They told me that carry it with me at all times while in the US and to also show customs everytime I cross the border. I'm guessing it is good evidence to show that I wouldn't want to do anything to mess up the Visa process??

While in Goergia, Eric and I went to see a few places that we would like to have our wedding at when we do get approved. And we are both excited that we have found a place. Just waiting on the Visa to be approved. :-D

Also, I just checked the USCIS site and saw that I was "Touched" On Feb 17th!!! Yea, my file was probably just moved to a different box or something but it still put a big smile on my face. It's goopd knwoing that the process is going along well so far.

Hopw everyone is doing well and their process is going fast!

We were just in Charleston and Savannah, and there were so many places that a wedding would be perfect! I'm glad you didn't have any trouble crossing the border. I've never heard of having the I-129F package, or papers with you, but that's good to know if that will help. Any ties you have that indicate you'll be returning to Canada is what you should bring!

Best of luck on a speedy approval.

Yay for the touch SC! Let's hope it means something is just about to happen. Joel and I plan on going to Chas soon...Charleston or Savannah are both gorgeous places for a wedding as Carla said. All of us Can/Am couples close by need to get together this summer if we can. :D

Thanks guys!!! I really hope that I'll be approved veryyyy soon! I keep checking the USCIS site. LOL

We should deff have a get together this summer sometime!

Oh forgot to mention in my original post. When I was calling around for places to have the wedding, one lady kept asking for the wedding date. I kept telling her that the date all depends on when the visa is approved. She told me that she recently went through the same thing and that her husband from Germany recently moved to the US. She then quickly told me to stop wasting my time and hers by calling to find out prices because it was a veryyyy longgg process! So, I'm guessing she didn't have a good experience with her Visa application.

I didn't see it as wasting anyone's time. I really wanted to have a place in mind for when the time comes. That was all. :-D LOL oh well!!!

Agree...maybe she did have a bad experience. BUT, I disagree about it wasting time. Gosh, people plan weddings sometimes up to a year in advance depending on the location, theme, etc. Don't let her deter you from looking around. :)

Thanks!!! I didn't let it bother me. Felt kindda bad that she was so grumpy though. If that was me, I would be the happiest person in the world to have my SO with me! :-D

I'm really excited that Eric and I decided on a place in Alabama! Quick question, since I'll be getting married in Alabama.. do I need to get a marriage lisence for that state or for the state that we will be living in (Georgia)?? I'm pretty sure it is for the state that we will be getting married in.
