Hello everybody,

My medical and interview is fast approaching, March 28 and April 4, respectively.

One of the requirements is you have a valid passport within six (6) months during your interview. My concern is this -

1. My passport will expire this September, almost within the edge of their requirement time, should i renew my passport or i will use this old one.

2. The Passport processing in my country take one month to process because of their revisions and all.

Thanks very much in advance whatever assistance you can extend.

It would be better if you renew it right now while you still have time, try to call the DFA Office and ask if they can process it within one week, renewals are much more faster compared to the new ones.

It's better to renew it to be safe. Passport renewal is not as difficult as applying for the first time. You can have it in a week or two.

Renew it, better be safe than sorry. My fiancee is in Bangkok today getting hers renewed, it would have been borderline if she had not renewed. Sidenote, getting a new passport in Thailand is only 3 days but you have to go to Bangkok to do it.

You can always move your interview out to accommodate getting your passport. Find out how long it'll take to get a new passport and extend your interview appropriately.

Beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing. It wont hurt much to move the interview back a bit if needed. Better to get the new passport just to be safe.

Is is possible to move my interview date? or i will wait for another 3 months again? The fastest is 25 days, don't know if there is no extension on that. Wheeeeeew....

with the newly implemented machine readable passport, 25 working days (well if you'd count saturdays and sundays and all holidays, its actually more than one month) is the normal processing time for renewal and getting a new passport if you are from the province like davao or cebu... you can have it expedited to 14 working days or additional 250pesos fee.. in davao there is a superfast expedite of 7 working days for yet additional fee... check with your local DFA office for this one so you could have your passport renewed in time for your medical.

Pls checkt this link for the DFA Press Release with regards to the new machine readable passport system:
