Hi All,

Just want to ask you if this is too risk for me. I received an email from US Consulate said, “We mail the package 3 to your fiancée since last week 2/11”. My fiancée’s house is about 15 minutes from US Consulate, and she hasn’t got it yet. Thus, I’d like to ask you all before I ask my fiancée turns in a person. I’ve already filled out DS-2001 and DS-230 part I.

Can my fiancée return a package 3 “DS-2001 ‘Date, and sign’ and DS-230 part I before she receive package 3 from US Consulate? I mean I have everything for her, why we should wait. Do I miss any forms?

Do you think this is a bad idea? OR just wait for 3 more weeks. Thanks so much for your help.

Haonie

According to the consulate,(I don't believe them) ours was mailed out Jan 22. I tried to convince my fiancee to send the forms in herself and not wait. She insisted on waiting for the packet to come in the mail. It never did, so now she will go to the consulate and hopefully they will give her the packet and she can return it the same day. I emailed her the DS230 and DS 156 to fill out as instructed by my attorney .

06-29-09 received GC in mail

4-18-11 mailed I-751 CSC

We never got our package 3 via postal.

After have been waited almost 4 weeks, I called the Consulate and they allowed my fiancee to come and pick up the package and also drop it off by person at the same day.

We turned in the DS 2001 and DS 230 part I.

Regards!

I say go for it. My fiance just hand in DS-230 Part 1. There isn't any thing particular about package 3. I wanted to turn in DS-230 last month, but my fiance was scared. She wanted to wait and receive the package 3 before hand it in.

Someone told me about package 3, there is a CHECKLIST that fiancee MUST turn in with DS-2001 and DS-230 in order for them to schedule for an interview. Is that right?

Thanks much the helps.

Have a nice weekend ALL. Haonie

Updated,

Yes I read it on VJ forum about turn in a checklist that you're ready for an interview.

This msg from SCY replied to menyoo

"You return the DS-230 Part I and an interview checklist which said you have all the documents and is ready for an interview.

Knowing the HCMC consulate, your fiancee will receive her packet 3 in a month. After she returns the documents then she will have her interview in 3 months. So you have about 4-5 months until an interview.

Don't go back for the interview. You can't attend the interview anyways. You never know what other documents they will require from you. It's better to remain in the US and be prepared to obtain any additional documents. Once she has her visa then you can go to Vietnam and bring her over.

Good luck.

I was told, as was my fiancee, by Marc Ellis, "Don't wait for packet 3 to come to you. You may never receive it, especially in Hanoi. Go ahead and get the forms online and just turn them in as soon as you have a HCM number. That way you can get 'in line.' You are not 'in line' for an interview until they receive Packet 3."

Thanks so much for all your advices, my fiancé today returned package 3 in person. There are a lot of ppl stood around US Consulate asked her if she needed help “she was almost went home without turned them in, if I was over there, I will kick their A...S”. However, we are done with package 3, and now wait for package 4.

Again, Thanks so much guys. Good luck to all of us.
