So after I saw that TWO December filers have been approved, I decided to call and see where my file is. The lady I spoke to was really nice, but not very helpful. She told me my receipt date was November 16, 2007 (I'll have to change that because I had it down as November 21).

Anyway, I just was really sweet and played dumb. I told her that I just didn't understand and that I was afraid I had an RFE because my "friend" (hope Big City Dave doesn't mind me calling him my friend) here in SLC mailed his petition 20 days AFTER I mailed mine and that he just got the NOA2. She assured me that I didn't have an RFE. In fact, she told me that they are currently processing October 30, 2007. My file is on the shelf. I asked if she could tell me if it had been assigned to an officer and she said that all the files are just on a shelf in the order they were received. They stay on the shelf until someone comes in and takes a box, and then they all just move up, IN ORDER.

If they STAYED in order, there wouldn't be August, September, October and November filers waiting while a few December filers get approved. She also said she doesn't know what kind of petition they submitted. I told her it was the same as mine - I-129F. She said she didn't know their circumstances and why they were approved and even if she did, she couldn't discuss it with me. I told her that I didn't expect her to. I wasn't calling to find out about THEIR case, I just wanted to find out what was going on with mine. The answer? It's on the shelf. We're currently processing October 30, 2007. But some days it goes really fast and they will move up the calendar fast.

Anyway, my file is on the shelf and will be processed IN ORDER. Yeah right

Anyway, my file is on the shelf and will be processed IN ORDER. Yeah right.

Bummer -- perhaps try next week or so, and see if you reach someone else. If you get the same answer, there's probably little that you can do.

And Sara/Estadia, wait a couple of weeks before trying again.

I'm off to Ecuador tonight, si man.

I also am November.. in the skipped over group and also Nigeria... guess we have to move our men to a better place. This is not fair to the Mid november group that got skipped.

True -- I was part of a (perhaps small) early-June group that got skipped. The NSC filers around my time were processed quite a bit before my TSC file was.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hey now, come on ... there's a few people here in your boat Sara. Every day I check in here yours is the first approval I look for. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

When it does happen this will all be something you'll look back at with, well maybe not a smile, but with fondness that you actually made it through intact and I really do believe that you'll be stronger as a result.

Now!! Call DeFazio!!!

Not that this would necessarily help anyone's case, but what if everyone gets the names and ID numbers they talk to and we put their names on the web with reviews etc completely anonymous of course. Whilst i'm sure we'd get a takedown notice it would at least draw some attention.

Ok Mercedes called tonight and spoke with a woman who was gruff and unhelpful.

Anyway, get this. They had my address as the one in Oregon. We checked back over our forms and we were correct - we put both our addresses as in Northern Ireland and Mercedes permanent residence in the USA as Oregon and we recieved our NOA1 here in Belfast.

They changed Mercedes' address for her, said we were within timeframe, and that was that!!! Said there was nothing unusual with our case and that they were filing in order.

So, to counteract the negative vibes given off by CSC we spent the last few hours looking at wedding photographers and are gonna book one this weekend before Mercedes leaves for Easter - think of it as a '**** you' to the nay sayers.

So don't be expecting anything too drastic from us over the next few days/weeks. Until we are the last people in line I'll bite my tongue and not moan too loud as I do feel for the people still waiting. Once and if we are last in line, oh momma ...

Have a good evening y'all!!!
