I am so excited! I have my first job interview tomorrow morning!

I sent them my resume on Saturday and they called me today. Totally wasn't expecting that.

It's for the Hampton inn...which is okay. No complaints...its a job.

I was a hospitality major in college, so this is what I like to do.

Cool! Do you plan or how do you plan to reveal that you're work authorized and not exactly a Perm res yet?

You'll have to let us know. I'm adjusting a cover letter to explain the gap since Nov in my resume to reflect the fact that I moved from Canada, married a USC and am finalizing my permanent residency (not sure how I'll say that). I work in IT and I know they'll have questions about that gap....I hate to reveal too much personal info, but it will just be a small blurb at the bottom of the letter. i also plan to put that after this break, I'm eager to get back etc etc bullsh*t bullsh*t :D

I was honest. I mean the !551 stamp is good for employment and I should get my GC soon right.

I wrote that I am from Canada, was working at hotels up there and now I am here wanting to do the same things, eager to get back into the industry again yadda yadda.

When he called he wanted to know what brought me down here and stuff. I guess tomorrow we'll discuss it further. I'll let you guys know how it went.

Thank you.

Well I just dropped off a TON of resumes to a bunch of hotels in the area, so even if tomorrow doesn't go well I will hopefully getting calls back from other places. This is the next challenge in all of this...getting a job.

its because they need a Canadian working for them. No business is complete without some Canadian flavour. ;)

I got the job!!

The interview was a breeze, it was a lot of fun. At the end of it all he said: "I would like to offer you the job"

Apparently, according to his assistant he never just offers anyone the job on the spot.

I start next tuesday! :D

Thank you!

I'll just be happy getting out of the house and talking to people other than my husband, son or the dogs.

I mean I love them all, but I need some interaction with others. Its been lonely.
