Michelle, just to reiterate, it's the I-134 he needs to fill out for the Embassy not the I-864. The I-864 will come at adjustment time. ;)

ivanna, you need I-134 and supporting docs for both yourself and your co-sponsor. Being self-employed still means you submit tax transcripts but they must include your 1099 and schedule C I believe it is. It doesn't matter that you filed with your ex ...I did as well. ;) If you have records, you need to submit them or explain why you did not file.

cdneh, yes...there will be an end. ;) Here's hoping you hear something any day now!

Dave and Genna... congratulations!!!

1) just 1 year's tax transcripts usually. If you find you need more you have only to call the IRS and have them send you transcripts. It's a free service and only takes a matter of days. I don't have the # but if you do a VJ search you're bound to find it. ;)

2) Auckland will do your NZ police certificate but if the beneficiary has lived anywhere else for over 6 months since the age of 16 you will need to obtain that one from that Country. Each Country is different in how they handle this process.

3) As long as you have all of your paperwork in order you should have no problems at Auckland, they are very helpful and fair.

Kim & Chris, your K-1 visa is valid for 6 months, since your visa was issued in November, that sounds like that is the the May 1st date you see on your visa. Because you've already used it to enter the Country, the date means nothing. Your I-94 should have a date as well... 90 days from entry....so February 28th or so? Perhaps the POE stamped it incorrectly but as long as you marry before that 90 days is up (end of Feb) you're all set.

We had a wonderful first Christmas together and we are now looking forward to our second New Year's celebration. :)

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Thanks for all the helpful replies! Will call IRS and get those transcripts on the way.

Okay, one more question.

We got approved on the 23rd or 24th... 23rd it seems after more checking. Our snail mail NOA2 hasnt arrived yet. Should I be worried? I seem to remember the NOA1 arriving nearly immediately.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

May 2009 be the BEST year ever for everyone!!!

cdneh: My thoughts are with you and i am soo hoping you will get word very very soon. As soon as that package arrives in Auckland you will be almost there to the states :star:(F)

KimandRuss: have you filed for AOS yet? If so, did you fill out the 1-693? Did you have to get the civil surgeon to fill out that form and did Russ have to have TB skin test? This part of the process is really worrying me as it doesn't seem very clear what one is suppose to do at that stage? And i really want to try and apply for AOS as soon as i arrive in USA to get it out of the way.

Any one else that's applied for AOS on k1 after July 2008?

DHL is shipping to NZ at the moment, a package weighing three pounds...so there might be more than one in there. If you are waiting for NVC to send yours... just a heads up.

It isn't ours.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Happy New Year to everyone :jest:

I went to the social security office on Tuesday just gone.....armed to the back teeth with paperwork, ID and printouts to prove why I qualified for a SSN........

There was a couple sitting at the window when we got there and that was it so we took a seat and I was seen within a minute. (one of the perks of being in a small town I guess  )

I gave the girl my form and passport and then she asked for my birth cert and that was it.

I was out of there in about 10mins from walking through the door.

Just gotta wait for the card in the mail now :)

You have to be so sick of hearing 'it will come' :( .... all I will say is that i'm still thinking of you every day and hoping you hear some good news soon. The one good thing is that you are already so prepared it's likely to be a VERY quick turnaround for interview... was less than a week for us once we knew it was heading over. In fact, he was told that the hardcopy reached NZ just the day before he was interviewed. ;)

Ana.. i'm embarrassed to say that no, we haven't yet sent out the packet. We were procrastinating then waiting to see if our fellow filers were going to get RFE'd for the TB ...then came the Holidays... No excuse, we really must get it out this week as he's already out of status. I know several people who simply supplied their vaccination worksheet with the I-693 top portion and without a CS signing off on it. EAD and AP have been issued but they are still awaiting GC.

A CS wont sign off on TB as it's not on the worksheet and most panel physicians overseas aren't up to speed yet with the TB. It's a mess!!! To be 100% sure, you can have a TB test through the health dept for free, have the CS sign off on the vaccination worksheet (there's a doc in TX that will do it for like $20 so dont pay more) and send that form along with the results of the TB. Nobody's on the same page yet but that seems to be the scenario that works.

good luck.

Happy New Year to you all!!!

Congratulations Ivannaloveskiwi... he can email them on AucklandIV@state.gov and ask. If he emails with the ack# they should be able tell you if they have the electronic copy.

They won't be open for a couple of days though, it is Saturday here at the moment.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

heh...did you mean me?

Oh we are sure tired of this game. He only rings now when I tell him there is something shipping with DHL, and he got quite excited the other night when I told him a heavy one (3lb compared to the usual 1) was on the way. It must be the others, one is Ivanna and I know there are at least two more waiting in here with recent approvals. Who knows how many others who are not VJ members...

We are prepared Kim..and have been for ages. If they ever shake us loose we will be ready to go. I am not resigning at work until I know I've passed at the interview, so there will have to be a further 2 weeks wait after that. Given the way things have gone for us, that seemed sensible.

I suppose the worst bit is there isn't a way of knowing why we are in AP or when it will end. On Igors list you can at least look at the people ahead and behind and get a bit of a feel time line wise...but this, as we were told last week, is an indefinite process. There aren't really any stats you can compare to. It's like waiting to be hung.

I am starting to wonder if they will ever release the case to Auckland.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

This is just awful! You got approved a day after me and never thought for one moment that you would get held up like this for so long!! It just doesn't make sense. It's not like you are from a high risk country (unless Canada and NZ has suddenly become one  ) there really isn't any rhyme or reason why they are keeping your file held up. And it makes it doubly frustrating that they can't or won't tell you exactly why they are holding onto it!! At least tell you something! anything, to put your mind at ease instead of having all these thoughts going through your head as to why they won't release it!

Sorry that we can't do anything to help you! if we could we definitely would!! My thoughts are with you every day and hope that you will hear something very very soon!! (F)

KimandRuss: thanks for info about the tb test. I have been reading other threads concerning this, hoping that i will see someone that has been approved/RFE concerning the 1-693 form/aos and whether to test or not to test but so far i don't think anyone has any response from uscis. Hope you will let us all know how you get on when you do file for aos. Have you decided yet if you will just send in the form for aos with the vaccination sheet enclosed (from medical in Auckland) and not bother with getting a tb test done?

KimandChris:That's great that you didn't have any hassles!!! did you get ssn in your passport name or in new married name?

Michelle and Kelvan: Any word from embassy yet?

Best wishes to everyone!!! :)
