Transcripts question

I am wondering what is the average amount of time it has taken for people to receive their tax transcripts from the IRS? I requested ours over 3 weeks ago -going on 4 weeks ago actually - and it says they are usually provided within 10 days. I am wondering if I should re-apply again for the transcripts. I will be eligible to file for my I-751 in 10 days and would like to get the package off to them shortly after the 90 day window opens. The transcriptsw are the only thing I still need.

It takes approximately 10 - 14days. Just make sure you sent the request to the right address. I faxed the forms to them because I requested for 8 years. For two - three years, you could give them a fax number for them to fax it to you.

I sent a written request the first time and yes, it did go to the correct address. I will phone on Tuesday - tomorrow is a holiday and they are closed - and request the forms again. Thanks! (I don't have a fax number available outside of giving them Office Depot or some such . . . I will go the phone call route).

Mine took only about 5 days!

I would call again...also, I think when I requested mine it was on a weekend and the phone line was completely automated--no need to wait until the holiday is over.

Good luck!

If you have enough other evidence you shouldn't need tax transcripts for your I-751 filing. We sent copies of our returns without the W-2s and were approved with no RFEs.

Transcripts are more important in the AOS phase when you're having to show the sufficiency of your I-864.

I am more interested in making sure we don't get an RFE and a quick approval to remove conditions so I will be sending in tax transcripts as well. The application is already big enough and our copies of our tax files are pretty large - the transcripts take up less space. They finally arrived today after requesting them on January 21. They were mailed February 14th. I had called the IRS on the 19th but their computers were down and the woman I spoke to was not able either to take a new request for transcripts nor to update me on the status of my request. I was going to call again today and voila! they arrived, so i can submit my application next week:-). yay.
