ANOTHER FIRE THE LAWYER THREAD

Again, Sept 6, 2007 my I-130 was approved, but lawyer did not mail out I-129F until Sept 12.

I have tons of trouble communicating with him in Texas. I think he is quite knowledgeable with

cross-border ( Mexican ) issues, but an International Marriage Visa is out of ordinary. His

famous and standard esponse always is "let's pray for a speedy resolution". That"s not doing

the trick, though. With all the 129-F pending problems I am thinking of firing him and taking

care of things ( working on IR1/CR1 route ) myself. Can someone please tell me where the

physical I-130 file is located? Does the lawyer get is back after approval. Does it sit at the

VSC together with my I-129F application? How would I pull this off? I am living in Japan

together with my wife ( thank heaven ) so there will be some long distance work involved,

I am sure. Or is my best option really to do nothing and "pray for a speedy resolution"?

If the I-130 was approved, why would you (or the lawyer) be sending in the I-129F?

If you fire the lawyer, do it in writng and request that he send you EVERYthing that is in your file. Via courier, not postal service.

The paperwork is yours. He can make a copy if he wishes. I would also ask for money back. If I would have found VJ before hiring my lawyer, I would have just done the process myself before wasting the time and money on someone who didn't care about my case.
