enjoying the cold weather at Springfield, Missouri! grrrr!!!

Hi to all,

Finally, the longwait is now over! I am with my beloved fiance right now! I got here last Feb 13 at 5 pm, a day delay due to snow..

My original sched to arrive was feb 12 at 4 pm..It was so stressful and scary at first when I learned that my flight from Detroit to Springfield was cancelled.

They change our route then, giving us Detroit to Minneapolis/St Paul then Minneapolis to Springfield. Another tricky experience when we arrived Minneapolis, our flight going to Springfield was cancelled!

I felt so helpless! Good thing John was calling me every now and then to guide me what to do!

I was given a night accomodation at Radisson and a free van!

at 11 am on the following day, I flew back to Detroit and waited an hour and 30 mins for my flight to Springfield! thank God, no more cancellation!

We owe so much to this site and to all the wonderful people who is always ready to share their experiences and I know this is not yet over, another journey to be taken soon!

Welcome to America! Oh yes, we just live near each other's State and gosh it is so tugnaw...as in tugnaw kaayo...negative there and here.....piang and panuhot cge andar....thanks hubby is here to keep me warm..taught him how to hilot the panuhot too..palit omega from the Filipino store....hehehhe :D

welcome to missouri this cold weather wont last much longer i live just an hour or so northof you all and was wondering were you are from in the philippines my sweetie is from talisay city and i sure wish i was there now it is nice to know there is some one close to us here in missouri any how i hope you like it here and when july gets here you will wish for a cool day you all have a good day mike

San ka dito sa Springfield? We're probably close to one another. Springfield din kase ako. Ask your hubby if he knows St. John School of Nursing, we're just at the back of that school, south of Fremont. We go to St. Agnes Church, so if you are a Catholic, maybe you can ask you husband to go there and we can possibly meet there.

Welcome to US! Don't worry about the weather because it will get better by spring. I love everything about here in Springfield and I'm sure you'll love it too.

I have a friend in Kansas City too and we talk every now and then on the phone. She's so nice so maybe when your fiancee gets here, they can be friends too. She's from Gen. Santos City (if my memory serves me right). Here's their ID here in VJ: dannymartin1...

missouri is a cold cold place in winter (well same here in colorado hehe) but its humid so its better for us filipinas compared to a dry weather like colorado :blush: ...

Welcome to Missouri! The weather has been crazy this year! Hopefully only a short time of this weather is left! Glad you made it here safe!

Yeah, we had that ice storm again just like last year. Lucky for us we didn't lose power, cable and internet this time. I can't wait for the spring.

Congrats and welcome to the Midwest.

Weather delays are a big factor when flying Northwest Airlines in the winter because they use Detroit and Minneapolis/St Paul as their international hubs.

thanks a lot! im enjoying a lot, the food, the people i've meet so far, the places i've visited so far and its always wonderful to be with the person you want to spend the rest of your life with! just having a hard time sleeping at night(time difference). anway, for every wonderful couple..thanks a lot guys..Mabuhay!
