Latley I have been really stressed out about this whole K1 proccess. Mostly because I asked my fiance to marry me very shortly after meeting and im afraid they will reject on this bases. I met her in late august around the 25th and flew out to see her on Sept. 15 and came home on the 25th. I sent my application about Oct 6 or around there. I sent all my phone bills which was only for a little over a month and lots of evidence of my actuall trip. I know many people dont agree with getting engaged so soon but we both knew very fast and love eachother more everyday. Of course now I have many hundreds of hours of phone bills but its not submitted. Can they just reject my petitioin without a RFE is one questioin. And has anyone else got engaged after only a short time like me and got an approval without problemes? Right now I feel so stressed maybe the most ive every been my whole life and am wondering if im stressing over nothing.

Don't stress! You're fine! I know I've read of some people getting engaged after only a couple months, which isn't long, and there's definately a lot of people here that have gotten engaged after meeting only once.

The initial adjudication is basically STRICT paperwork, it doesn't even seem like they look at your actual relationship. It's not subjective like this at all. All they care about is that 1. you've met within the last 2 years and 2. you have some PRIMARY evidence, which would be your plane ticket basically. I think theoretically speaking your phone bills aren't even necessary at this point. Right now they're kind of just checking for fraud.

Questions about the 'validity' of your relationship won't come until months from now with the interview your fiance goes through. Then you'll be asked about alll the phone bills, emails, any more trips you've made since then, etc. Then they want all your proof of a firm relationship. And by then you will have been together probably at least 4-6 months, so it won't even be a question of "is this too fast" anymore. See?

One adjudicator probably looks at dozens of these cases a day. I think they're very desensitized to these sort of personal specifics and probably don't even notice them or care anymore. Every relationship is different too, so the only person you need to answer to about the 'validity' of your love is you. As long as you're sure and your fiance's sure, that's what matters.

So stop stressing. Right now you're just one more form in a huge huge huge stack.

Summer 2001 - met my Scottish boy

December 18th, 2007 - proposal in Madrid's Botanical Gardens with a duck standing behind him going 'food?'

January 18th, 2008 - I-129F sent to VSC

January 31st, 2008 - received NOA1, issued Jan. 24 :)

February 24th, 2008 - NOA2; omgwtfbbqlolz

February 29th, 2008 - NVC letter sent

U dont have to worry too much, you will be fine, as long as u meet the requirement of meeting for the past 2 yrs.and prove them that ur relationship is bona fide.

Good luck!

You are stressing about nothing.

I met my wife in the US and then later we went to the USVI started dating via phone and e-mail, we were apart for 3 months, met in London, got engaged the next time we saw each other, and are now married. You just have to prove by the letters, pivtures, etc that you are both serious. My wife and I also have a 20 year difference.

All will be fine.

David

wow, we have already recieved our Biometrics appointments. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away.

It seems to be moving rather quickly.

This is great.

I agree with SnowyTater. Don't stress too much, everything will be fine as long as you can present enough evidence that your relationship is genuine. Goodluck to you!
