I wore some jeans and a nice shirt....

You might have to be waiting for a couple of hours so I think you should dress nice but comfortable :yes: I don't think you have to go and buy a suit just for the interview :no:

:lol: I asked the same exact question!

I wore a blouse and khakis, and most of the people there were just in jeans and trousers and a nice shirt.

I went "business casual" like I was going to work, but not dressy. But jeans and a neat shirt would be totally appropriate. They don't really care what you are wearing, but I think it is only polite to look decent when you are visiting an office.

*January 30 2006 - packet returned.....arggggggggg we forgot one signature!!

*January 31 2006 - sent I129-F back to the CSC, hope we did not forget anything else

Agree with alleycat: business casual. Nice, not sloppy. Shirt with collar ... casual jacket. Leave the T-shirt and jeans for washing the car. Montreal is fashionable no matter where you go, and you may want to go celebrate afterwards.

dress for success they say, but dont go over boar! I recal lwearign casual pants and a collared shirt!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I just got over with mine a few hrs back and i had a suit so i wore 1 as also i was meeting with one of my office clients.. but i would not buy it just for the interview. i saw a few wearin 1 but most of them were decent casuals then formals ..hey i wld be here until 1st May n leave aftn after i pick my passport

Jan. 3, 2007- Cashed cheques for AOS and EAD

March 15, 2007- AOS interview; APPROVED!!

March 23, 2007- Welcome letter/notice received from mail

March 27, 2007- GREENCARD

Sept 5, 2007 - my first anniversary in the U.S

Jan 30, 2009 - Mailed I-751 removal of conditional residence status

Feb 2, 2009 - Package mailed 10:22 AM at Laguna Niguel, CA (CSC)

Feb 5, 2009 - Check cashed

Feb 26, 2009 Biometrics

07-06 - Moved to Canada (PR almost complete)

07-06 - Changed again, back to US imm.

09-06 - Landed as Canadian PR

10-06 - DCF Toronto, Approved in 1.5 hrs!

11-06 - Interview Montreal (success!)

I-130

10-05-06 DCF in Toronto - Approved

10-19-06 Packet 3 received & sent back

10-20-06 Montreal receives P3

11-03-06 Packet 4 received

11-06-06 Medical

11-22-06 Interview / Visa approved

11-26-06 heading home, 6 day drive, my oh my

casual, i am not sure it would make a difference dress better, i saw people at mexicos consulate in jeans, plain top and sandals and still got the visa....

09-14-2010 Boston's biggest ceremony of naturalization, I'm a citizen now! :)
