Guys, in your experiance is the in bowl bidet better than the hand held one or vice versa?

I'm getting the one in the bowl because knowing my kids, if I got the handheld one, they'd have a bidet war the first day it's installed. lol

my husband doesnt have running water in his apartment nor did he in his grandmothers house growing up. The rinse off with a bucket and flush the toilet with another bucket of water....there isnt a bidet debate...they bathe down the street in hamams and public showers

My honey has been here for two weeks now and is really struggling with homesickness. He really misses his family and it breaks my heart to see him struggle so much.

We've stocked up on spices and items for cooking the things that he likes, as well as "spicing up" American food--so I think we're ok on that end. I buy the frozen bread dough and make "homemade" bread for him, and he's discovered brownies and banana bread--which he's crazy over.

My youngest children are gone for the summer and my oldest is a college student and lives out of the house--so the lack of noise and family members (there are four brothers and a sister and uncle living in my husbands parents's home along with three grandchildren and the wives of his brothers)so the lack of family activity is noticeable for him.

He has full access to call, email, skype and facebook family: but he posted on his facebook yesterday how much he is missing everyone and it's very unlike him to share emotions on facebook, so I'm freaked out a bit.

My oldest son comes over or hangs out with him quite a bit and is really accepting of my husband. But we live in a very country setting with no public transportation, no Muslim or Pakistani culture and I think it's hard for him to have no social life.

Has anyone had experience with this AFTER they've come over? I see a lot of preparation posts here, but nothing from those who have their husbands in the US.

Thanks!

Bella

My husband has gone through the same thing! And has a lack of patience for anything! The hardest part for him is when I am gone at work. I took a couple of days off when he first got here but still it wasn't enough. He hates sitting at home while I am at work, but he hasn't gotten his drivers license yet so he is dependant for transportation.

I enrolled him into ESOL classes to help take up some of his time and showed him around the town so he can get out and do something instead of sitting at home being bored.

It's hard but get him as involved as you can in ANYTHING. It helps and slowly but surely the homesickness will ease up.

I am anticipating homesickness to kick in for my husband sometime soon... he's been here almost a year, but this is his first Ramadan away from home, and I know it will be difficult for him. I am not sure what to do except what we all do already, just let him know you love him, you're thankful to have him in your life, all that stuff.

This will be Ibrahim's first Ramadan away from home. I hope a few of the nights to go to the mosque, which is a 25 minute drive. He will have to learn to break his fast alone while I am at work.

Things I did to make him feel at home~~gave him a bus schedule and a roll of quarters..lol, just kidding, I'm helping as much as I can while I maintain a full-time career.

He starts ESL classes tomorrow. To be honest, the more you cater to 'his food' and 'his music' seems to make the homesickness worse. I'm not Jordanian and never will be. My house is not in Jordan, never will be. So he is embracing America and all it has to offer. When he wants Jordan...he knows the way to get there.

Can I just say that I am all warm and fuzzy inside reading all this? This whole online community is filled with people who are so full of love for another person! The lengths that we are willing to go through for our SO's is inspiring. Thanks for all of you who are involved and are helping Ali and I along with this journey! I can't wait to build our nest together here and cook mansaf!
