Hello all, I have followed this forum for a long time now but never posted, sorry. Well a quick overview before my questions. I applied for K-1 visa for my fiancee in the philippines in September 2007, we have received or NOA2 already. My questions are: 1. I know military personnel have a little easy time with the visa processing, just wondering if federal employees have any benefits to this? 2. I am a college student right now, I will be expected to graduate in March/April I have no other previous years of employment except this year and my current job is full time seasonal, which means the job will not last too long but pays well. I have my mother as my cosponsor and she makes well above the 125 poverty level. Will I run into problems as a public charge? I will be looking for a another job for a full time permanent job as soon as I graduate (possible ADJUDICATIONS OFFICER  ) but I think by the time my fiancee has her interview all i will have to show is 2-3 months pay stubs from this seasonal job and my mom as my cosponsor. Can anyone advise any other options? The overall picture looks good for us, my fiancee just graduated from college and will be in the medical field and Ill be a college grad as well, do they consider these things as well? Thanks all

My opinion............

1: No

2: No, mom as co-sponsor should be good to go.

Good Luck

Thanks SgdnGuns for the quick reply. Does it matter about the copsonor and the fact that im filing at the philippines embassy. I hear some inconsistent things about this embassy and their willing to accept co-sponsors.

Someone who has dealt with the embassy for that issue will have to answer that.

The Manila Embassy is a pain in the ###, it was quicker for me to go to the American Embassy in Singapore to get more pages for my passport than to have it done in Manila.
