Hi,

I need some help, very fast. I have been involved with a man from the U.K. for three years now. He have come to visit me 10 times over the past three years. I just filed for our K-1 VISA last Saturday and now he has backed out. Can I stop this? How do I stop it? I have not gotten any receipt yet. I sent a money order for $455. Money I didnt really have. Can I stop this? Please help me ASAP. Thank you.

I have not received anything at all. I even sent it certified mail and have not even gotten the return receipt card yet. Can I stop the money order if it hasn't gone through already and then contact the appropriate people?

I'm not sure about that.

I know that if they have received it and it's been cashed, there is no refund. You'd have to cut your losses.

You could possibly call the bank and see if it's been cashed and perhaps cancel the money order so it won't go through.

If the money order is canceled and the USCIS got your petition and was unable to get the money, your entire petition would be returned to you and you wouldn't have to contact them at all.

Wow, what a sad situation. Stay strong.

After all that time to suddenly end it...have faith in yourself and keep comfort in your friends and family.

I wish you the best (F)

You can only stop a money order if the company that provided it, allows you to do so. Otherwise there are no refunds.
