Hi all,

I'm putting documents ahead-of-time for the interview at the consulate. I was born abroad to USC parents and so used the FS-240 as my proof of citizenship (not the birth certificate). Do I have to send the original with my fiance to the interview? (Unlike birth certificates, you cannot get another original copy from the State dept. unless your original has been lost or destroyed.)

Or can I send "certified" copies? Or can they just be "notarized"?

Has anyone else encountered this?

Thanks all!

My hubby is a US citizen born abroad in the UK, becasue his Dad was in the Airforce stationed ther when he was born.

He simply sent me a Notarized copy of the FS-240 and of his actual Birth certficate. I took those in, and had no problems...
