What part of the book are most people on? Omoba, you will be ok at the interview.

The first chapter I think.

I have the book but am waiting for others to get it before I start reading.

LOL,, I didn't know what it was either when I first arrived in the U.S. Grading on the curb means I stand out on the street corner and ....... No, not really. A curve is when you take the highest grade and make 100% then adjust the others to meet that spread. Another way is when you take the median grade and make it a C. The scores higher are your Bs and As and those lower your Ds and Fs. Habe ich es gut erklärt?

The longer it takes to introduce yourself the less you've actually accomplished

Does the mail run today? I just checked on the status of my book and it says it was delivered in Houston on the 16th. I hope I get it tomorrow, at the latest. What is the status on everyone else reading the book.

Please don't let this idea fade away...

OMG, I was going through some of the first thread about loving the african male.....YESSSSSSSS, I'm so happy that I'm not alone.

I thought it was just me with a husband that gets completely silent while I argue his ears off. It's funny to see that other people had that same thing going on. Like someone else said..I'm so used to argue, get louder, your turn to ague and get louder back, and then we make up and move on.

Sorry for going all off topic, but I didn't get a chance to partake in that last discussion about that. Anyway, add my husband to the list of silent arguing Africans.

Mine does that too, but he is getting better about it, he knows that I like to talk things through. Until I read the book I really thought it was just him, but I realise now that it is culture. Now that I have more tolerance for it, he does not do it very much anymore...go figure. I really wish I had read that book before he got here, so many misunderstandings that lead to arguments could have been avoided. When he was silent I thought he just did not like me. I remember starting a post about how I thought that...

Anyway I orderd directly from Pete, I called him on the phone...I will have to go through my emails and see if I can find his number.
