------------- insha allah --------------

Hello and I am happy to be here with pure joy in my heart!!! (L)

For all of you who have read my last post about Tarik's interview being in AP, I just want to say

WE GOT THE VISA!!!! :P

I am totally shock...he got the call today, 4/8 from the consulate telling him to come 4/9 with passport for his visa..OMG we are just simply overjoyed!!!

It is a feeling I cannot express

These last 12 days had me really doubting whether any of this was going to work but thank god

THANK GOD INSHALLAH!!!

Thank you to all of you who responded with your helpful experiences and links...

I know our fight is not quite over yet, as this is the K3

I get a little confused too, we are married yes...so we applied for the spousal visa first ........I-130

standard procedure is to file for the I-129F, even if we are already married..we do that to get him here quicker because the I-130 takes so much longer and hopefully when he is here, we can finish for his permanent residence here.

Regardless....it is a miracle my baby is free! He is granted the simple respect of being with his wife

and I am so happy!

So, now if I can ask any other veterans here...what happens once we get him ticket?

How long does the K3 last and what is the procedure of going thru the Port of Entry?

Can he enter directly into my city's airport or does the government tell you which airport to fly into?

I think he would be here within a week...GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL, dont discourage

DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!!

OK OK

someone help me too please

i cant believe even with a lawyer i cant get K1 or K3 straight

LOL

I applied for the permanent residence first....I believe this is K1, which is why I listed that on my profile cuz ultimately that is the ONE we want

BUT..we also filed the K3 right away, which I believe is the Fiancee visa

I KNOW  ....I thought it was strange too but it was the advice of the Lawyer..he said it works that way

so i have K1 listed cuz he is my spouse and we are aiming for permanent residence but the visa we just applied for and got was the K3

I think i wont believe he got it until he says it is safe in his hand but in the meantime

I am happy to share anything what I know with all of you

I am sure that the CONGRESSMAN helped!!

I do believe, anything you can do..DO IT and do it quick

I heard that the petitions get sent back to USCIS here in the States but my lawyer said no

and the congressman's secretary, who apparently deals alot with immigrations, told me it is all done electronically and not worry..and see ...I worried for nothing

take care all

I think what the OP means is that they are married and sent in the I-130, intending to go the IR/CR-1 route, but chose to go the K-3 route instead.

Sandrilla....for married people there are two types of visas, the IR/CR-1 (immigrant visa, you get a greencard in the mail after you arrive in the US) AND the K-3 (non-immigrant visa, good for multiple entries, but you must adjust status once you arrive to this country.)

If you have a K-3 visa, you will have to apply for employment authorization once your hubby gets here. The visa you received is good to get your husband here, it is not a work authorized one.

Congratulations and good luck!

Sandrila -- OK I think I understand your confusion now. You actually filed for a K-3, not a K-1 -- which means you filed correctly (please adjust your profile to show K-3.)

Just to explain -- for the K-3, you begin by filing an I-130, then follow it with the I-129F -- which is called the "Fiance" petition, but it's also used for married couples filing for a K-3. It can be thoroughly confusing at first.

Anyway, you made it through successfully -- so may I wish you a hearty congratulations on your visa !!!:dance::dance:

You can or cant do everything alone? maybe most dont live close to the embassy, there are many questions someone might have and those here can help, the packet comes in the mail, good you can fill it out and thats the end until interview time but if someone has a question they come here to ask and thats no problem because some of the helps can often help get thru the interviews with not so much problems

as in this question:

would you please help me to understand what does mean 221 g?it says :

section 221 g which prohibits the issuance of visa to anyone whose application does not comply with the provisions of the immigration and nationality act or regulations issued pursuant thereto, the following remarks apply in your case :

Think about it. It doesn't sound like you were prepared for the first interview, so you got denied. And you are telling us how successful you were by going to an agency near the consulate?

I'll stick to my peeps in VJ thank you very much.

They helped you fill out the papers, correct? What about proof, did they tell you what was the best proof to take? VJ is a great source of information on what kind of proof that the consulates like to see. If I remember correctly you only had 3 letters to show them that you sent your wife. In the eyes of the consulate that is not enough to prove a valid relationship. If I had come to VJ and told my peeps that I had 3 letters to take they would have warned me that it wasn't enough proof, then proceeded to give me ideas.

Don't discount the voices of experience.
