Already Married, but filed as Unmarried Child

Any idea what my brother-in-laws chances are?

My brother-in-law plans on telling the interviewing officer the truth. That he had been married when my father-in-law petitioned him as an adult unmarried child.

My father-in-law petitioned my brother-in-law as his adult unmarried child in 1992.

My brother-in-law had not told my father-in-law that he got married in 1987.

My father-in-law had been in the states for about 20 years and during that time had told his children not to get married. My father-in-law kept waiting for the US Government to pass legislation for Filipino WWII Veterans. For several decades it looked like the legislation was going to pass, but was never able to make it out of committee. The Immigration Act of 1990 finally recognized these veterans and gave them citizenship.

My brother-in-law did not want to anger his father, so he didn't let him know he was married until about 10 years ago.

Thank you for your response.

My brother-in-laws case doesn't have all the same issues that the the people in the article did, but it was well worth reading.

We are trying to gather as much information as possible in hopes of getting him approved when he goes for the interview in Manila.
